To contribute to increasing the value of agricultural production, increasing the competitiveness of products, and developing the economy for farmers, Nhu Thanh district has been promoting agricultural restructuring towards productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Mr. Han Van Huyen, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhu Thanh district, said: "To gradually shift from small-scale production to large-scale, high-tech application associated with agricultural restructuring, the People's Committee of the district has been promoting land accumulation and concentration. In particular, the People's Committee of the district requires the People's Committees of communes and towns to focus on closely following the district's assigned plan for implementation. The Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations mobilize union members, members and people to organize emulation movements, build advanced models and examples of land accumulation and concentration by contributing land use rights for concentrated production, applying intensive farming to improve crop productivity and economic efficiency. Communes and towns have organized propaganda, dissemination and implementation of the province's and district's guidelines and policies on land accumulation and concentration to develop large-scale agricultural production, applying high technology...".

In order to develop production and increase the value of each unit area, the district has supported the development of production models, such as: supporting rice harvesters, transplanters and seedling trays; supporting models of raising foreign sows; safe vegetable growing models... Along with supporting the development of production models, Nhu Thanh district also directed communes to promote the conversion of crop structure, introducing crops with high economic value into cultivation, replacing low-yield and low-quality rice and corn varieties with high-yield and high-quality hybrid rice and corn varieties. At the same time, mobilizing farmers to actively apply scientific advances in production to save costs, improve economic efficiency; produce clean agriculture and organic agriculture. In addition, the district also creates good mechanisms and environments to attract businesses to invest in the agricultural and forestry sector; strengthens calling for and searching for markets to link production according to the value chain for the district's key products. From 2020 to now, the whole district has converted more than 100 hectares of ineffective rice land to grow crops with higher economic efficiency; converted nearly 60 hectares of ineffective annual crop land to grow crops with economic value; developed nearly 2,000 hectares of intensive rice cultivation areas with high productivity, quality and efficiency; developed more than 100 hectares for large-scale agricultural production, applying high technology. Many crop models with high income value have been and are being replicated, such as peach, dragon fruit, galangal, turmeric... Typically, the family of Mr. Hoang Van Tuan in village 14, Xuan Du commune with the model of growing grapes, pennywort and melon, each year brings in revenue of more than 1 billion VND. The model of growing areca combined with growing star apple, green-skinned grapefruit, and Dien grapefruit brings in hundreds of millions of VND of income for the family of Mr. Truong Van Son in Dong Hai village, Hai Long commune, helping his family escape poverty and become rich. The integrated farm of raising chickens and pigs combined with growing fruit trees and vegetables in greenhouses following VietGAP standards of Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang's family in Mau Lam commune is estimated to earn about 400 - 500 million VND/year and create jobs for a number of local workers...

According to Mr. Han Van Huyen, to continue promoting the development of agricultural production, the People's Committee of Nhu Thanh district has been directing communes and towns to review the area, types of crops and livestock to develop plans suitable to actual conditions. At the same time, shifting the structure of crops with development advantages and market demand; producing clean agriculture, organic agriculture, strengthening joint ventures and associations in production to improve productivity, quality and competitiveness of products. Along with that, the People's Committee of the district continues to direct localities to successfully complete the accumulation of land for large-scale production, applying science and technology; improving product quality, building typical brands. Creating favorable conditions for the consumption and promotion of agricultural products, increasing value in agriculture. On the other hand, implementing well the management, operation and exploitation of irrigation works; regulating and using water resources reasonably to ensure enough water for agricultural production.
