Heartbreaking murders caused by alcohol and beer

Recently, the situation of intentional homicide crimes in Thach Thanh district has had many complicated developments, mainly due to alcohol and beer.

The scene of the murder case occurred on May 4, 2023 in Thanh Minh village, Thanh Long commune.

Since the beginning of 2023, there have been 28 criminal cases in the district, including 2 murder cases, 1 case of threatening to kill, and 10 cases of disturbing public order. Notably, among the murder and intentional injury cases, there are cases in which both the victim and the perpetrator are relatives, even siblings; many cases stem from conflicts while drinking alcohol, beer, etc.

The dilapidated house built temporarily on a vacant land in Thanh Cong village, Thanh Long commune, Thach Thanh district has almost only basic living items. Every item is old and covered with dust, only the pain of Ms. BTH and her children is forever like new... because nothing can make up for the sudden passing of her husband - Mr. BVC. That pain is multiplied when the culprit who killed her husband is her husband's younger brother.

This tragic murder happened on the afternoon of April 19, 2023, at the house of Mr. BVC (born in 1983). The cause of the case started when Mr. C reminded his younger brother, Bui Van Thoang (born in 1993), not to get drunk. This made Thoang feel resentful and annoyed. Angry at being reminded by his brother, that afternoon, Thoang took a homemade knife to his brother's house. Seeing Mr. C lying on a hammock in front of the house, Thoang rushed over with a knife and slashed Mr. C's neck, causing Mr. C's death.

Ms. BTH, the victim’s wife, still in shock, recounted: “My husband was very gentle when he was alive. I only reminded him not to drink alcohol, but he took a knife and slashed my husband. Now that my husband has passed away, leaving me and my children with a debt, I don’t know how to handle it.”

While public opinion was still in shock over the above murder case, less than a month later, on May 4, 2023, another murder occurred in Thanh Long commune. The victim was Mr. Bui Van Tuyen (born in 1980) in Thanh Minh village, and the main perpetrator was a close friend who worked in the construction team for a family in Thanh Minh village, Thanh Long commune.

On the afternoon of May 4, the homeowner invited the construction workers to stay for dinner and drinks. While drinking, Bui Van Tieu (born in 1974) in Thanh Long commune, Thach Thanh district and Bui Van Tuyen had a conflict and argument. Unable to control his actions, Tien used a kettle to hit Tuyen on the head. After being stopped by everyone, the two went home. At around 11:30 p.m. the same day, Tuyen was discovered by locals in a coma, bleeding from his nose, ears and mouth at Tay Trac reservoir. Although he was taken to the emergency room, Tuyen died. Bui Van Tieu was later prosecuted and arrested by the Investigation Police Agency of Thach Thanh district to investigate the crime of "Murder".

Just because of alcohol leading to loss of self-control, two close friends in the same work group now one lost his life, the other is in prison, causing many people to feel heartbroken.

The consequences of alcohol abuse are always a valuable lesson for everyone. Therefore, every citizen must be aware of their own responsibilities and behaviors, and should not abuse alcohol, leading to painful consequences.
