That is a great surprise to me and a very good sign because we have gone through difficult years of the pandemic. Currently, businesses are facing many difficulties and struggles, but they are not helpless or passive, but proactively participating in the fair with all their efforts and creativity.”

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy - Representative of Vietnam Trade Office in Thailand

Speaking at the workshop “Green economy and orientation for sustainable product development in Vietnam” held on May 24 on the sidelines of the THAIFEX Anuga 2023 Food Fair, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Thailand, assessed that the prospect of sustainable green economic development in Vietnam is very potential. This is also an advantage and soft weapon of Vietnamese enterprises when exporting abroad, especially to highly competitive countries like Thailand.

“Each of our raw material areas is a very good traditional medicine and after the Covid-19 pandemic, the tastes and consumption mindset of consumers around the world have changed. Thailand is not out of that trend. Taking advantage of those advantages and soft weapons to conquer customers and find ways to create niche markets is the right direction and has a long-term strategy,” said a representative of the Vietnam Trade Office in Thailand.

Attending the THAIFEX Anuga Fair in Thailand for the second time, Sokfarm Coconut Nectar with organic certification from the US, Europe and Japan, brought to the fair a new product: soy sauce made from coconut nectar and sea salt, meeting the needs of consumers allergic to soy and gluten with up to 3 times less salt than usual.

Mr. Pham Dinh Ngai, founder of Sokfarm, a Khmer enterprise in Tra Vinh province, shared: "THAIFEX is an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises like Sokfarm to see what their competitive advantages are, what their competitive advantages are compared to the world and how to bring Vietnamese and regional products closer to the world's needs through participating in a large international fair like this."

According to the representative of the Vietnam Trade Office in Thailand, compared to the first years when only leading Vietnamese enterprises participated, the increasing presence of small and medium enterprises at THAIFEX Anuga shows that our enterprises are becoming more proactive, especially those from localities that are not afraid of difficulties in the journey of searching, processing and exporting, promoting their raw material areas to foreign markets. However, Mr. Huy commented that the market approach of Vietnamese enterprises is still not really systematic compared to other countries such as Thailand, and the way of telling the product story is still not really attractive.

Mr. Huy shared: "In the coming time, I suggest that Vietnamese enterprises take advantage of their own products, tell stories about each enterprise's precious raw material areas to create unique marks for the products, and from there take advantage to penetrate niche markets, create a unique identity to be able to make a mark for Vietnamese products in foreign markets."
