The walking and running race 'Proud of the City I Love', Agribank Cup 2025 promises to be a place where every step, every run leaves beautiful images alongside meaningful activities.

The introduction of the walking and running race "Proud of the city I love", Agribank Cup 2025 took place today (May 20) at the Continental Saigon Hotel, attracting the attention of a large number of walking and running communities, as well as media and fans. This is the largest athletics tournament ever organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, with the support of Agribank and Nexus Sport Events.

Journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, in charge of the South, said that the "Proud of the City I Love" walking and running race will take place on June 15, starting at Le Loi Avenue (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) and finishing at Thu Thiem area (Thu Duc City). The race is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

"Ho Chi Minh City is also the cradle of many revolutionary journalists. With such special meanings, this walking and running race has the message: Proud of the city I love. The race promises to attract about 6,000 athletes, including more than 1,000 athletes who are journalists, reporters, editors, and journalists working at Ho Chi Minh City and Central and local press agencies stationed in Ho Chi Minh City, local Journalists Associations, and university and college students," shared journalist Tran Trong Dung.

In addition to the separate award for the journalism category to motivate journalists to participate in the award, the organizing committee also mobilized funds to help Agent Orange/Dioxin victims in difficult circumstances. The support fund through the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims is at least 200 million VND. In response to the affection from the organizing committee for meaningful activities, Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Physician Nguyen Hong Son, former Director of Military Hospital 175, currently Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims, said that the Association will participate in the award.

"Athletes who are victims of Agent Orange/dioxin will participate in the "Proud of the City I Love" walking and running race with the spirit of overcoming themselves, asserting themselves, contributing to spreading the images of this meaningful tournament", Mr. Nguyen Hong Son confided. After the emotional sharing of Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Physician Nguyen Hong Son, journalist Tran Trong Dung, on behalf of the organizing committee, decided to give 100 bibs to athletes who are victims of Agent Orange/dioxin participating in the race.

Mr. Nguyen Tu Anh, CEO of Nexus Sport Events, the organizer of the tournament, said that the tournament was conceived in 2021, so it has been carefully and meticulously prepared, promising to bring athletes participating in the tournament interesting "once in a century" experiences to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. Athletes compete in 3 running distances: 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and a walking distance of 3.5 km. This is an opportunity for athletes to stride on the most beautiful roads right in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, through many landmarks such as Nguyen Hue Boulevard, Thu Ngu Flagpole, Ton Duc Thang Street, Ba Son Bridge, Thu Thiem...
