The power of the multidisciplinary model
The city of Da Nang recently had two outstanding cooperatives honored by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance at the "Cooperative Star" award ceremony in 2026. This is clear evidence of the strong and dynamic transformation of cooperatives in adapting to the market economy, not only enriching their members but also making positive contributions to the new rural landscape and civilized urban areas of the locality.
Established in 1978, the Dai Hiep Agricultural Services and General Business Cooperative (Dai Loc commune) has now developed into a multi-sectoral, multi-field integrated economic model.
Mr. Pham Thanh Su, Director of the cooperative, said that the key to the unit's strong development is the spirit of continuous innovation. From traditional agricultural services such as land preparation, irrigation, and material supply, the unit has boldly expanded into the production of construction materials with the tunnel brick brand, construction of rural transportation projects, distribution and retail of rural electricity, and garment manufacturing.
With 1,950 members and revenue exceeding 32 billion VND in 2025, the Dai Hiep Agricultural Services and General Business Cooperative not only ensures shareholder profits but also creates stable employment for 150 local workers with an average income of 6.7 million VND per month. The cooperative's success demonstrates that when agriculture is closely linked with industry and services, the synergistic power creates breakthrough added value, helping to shift the rural labor structure effectively and sustainably.
In the agricultural sector, the Dai Hiep Agricultural Services and General Business Cooperative provides most input services and handles output issues, helping local rice cultivation maintain stability amidst market fluctuations.
In the diversified business sector, the frequent changes in tunnel brick designs and the application of modern production technology have helped the cooperative's products adapt well to consumer tastes.
In particular, in rural retail electricity distribution, the unit continuously upgrades the low-voltage power grid and innovates management methods to meet stringent technical standards, providing a stable light source for daily life and production.
"It is the flexible and creative organizational methods in joint ventures and partnerships that help the unit always lead in socio-economic development movements in the locality," Mr. Su shared.
Support for members
Shining alongside the title of "Cooperative Star," the Da Nang Automobile and Tourist Vehicle Support Service Cooperative (An Hai Ward) is a prime example of breakthroughs in the transportation sector. With 48 years of establishment, the unit strives to perfect a new cooperative model, where assets, management methods, and individual responsibilities are blended into collective strength.

Tran Doan, Director of the Cooperative, shared that the unit's overarching goal is to become a "common home" where small-scale business owners can join forces, pool capital, and support each other to develop together. Currently, with 192 members and 176 vehicles operating regularly, the cooperative has built a solid reputation in the market, ranging from fixed-route passenger transport and cargo transport to tourist vehicles and heavy machinery services such as excavators and bulldozers.
The cooperative's highlight lies in its professional service in supporting its members. Instead of leaving vehicle owners to fend for themselves in the highly competitive market, the cooperative takes the lead in managing routes, signing contracts for parking spaces, insurance agencies, and, most importantly, providing bank guarantees to help members borrow capital to upgrade their vehicles.
This support enables members to upgrade their fleets, improve service quality, and ensure stable income for nearly 300 employees.
Throughout its operation, the cooperative has consistently adhered to traffic safety regulations and state laws, with 100% of its staff and members remaining disciplinary-free and free from occupational accidents for many years. This collaboration not only minimizes risks for individual transport businesses but also creates a transparent and responsible business ecosystem, significantly contributing to the stability of transportation order and social welfare in the area.
With outstanding achievements in production and business activities, the two aforementioned cooperatives share a common trait: unwavering commitment to the collective economic model and flexibility in management methods. No longer passive in the old way, the cooperatives prioritize the interests of their members and use market satisfaction as a measure of value.
The "Cooperative Star" award, with its timely recognition and honor, serves as a driving force for cooperatives in particular, and the collective economic sector of Da Nang in general, to become increasingly self-reliant, strong, hardworking, creative, and striving to overcome difficulties to contribute to overall development.
