In 2023, Ninh Phuoc had 13 new products from 8 entities registered to participate in the OCOP Program. These included 8 food products, 3 beverages, 1 souvenir, and 1 rural service/sales product. Through the process of selecting ideas, evaluating production and business plans, surveying facilities, and based on evaluation criteria, 4 products participating in the first phase of the 2023 OCOP Program received scores of 50 points or higher from the District OCOP Product Evaluation Council, meeting the criteria for 3-star rating. This achievement is due to the implementation of various support measures by local authorities and agencies in the district to enhance the capacity of participating entities; and the consistent promotion of awareness campaigns about the program's purpose and significance. Through this process, stakeholders recognize the benefits and effectiveness of developing OCOP products and actively participate.
According to participants in the OCOP Program, this is not only an opportunity to promote and enhance the value of local specialty products, but the OCOP Program is also a real opportunity for local businesses to exploit their potential, upgrade and improve their products, and promote production along the value chain. The efforts of these businesses in developing OCOP products have helped production and business establishments gradually increase the value of local agricultural products. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, from Phuoc An 1 village, Phuoc Vinh commune, shared: "Previously, I mainly sold custard apples to traders, so the prices were unstable. In early 2023, thanks to local propaganda and encouragement, and guidance and support from specialized agencies, I participated in the OCOP Program with fresh Thai custard apples. To date, my Thai custard apple product has been awarded 3 stars by the OCOP Product Evaluation Council." This is not only an opportunity for me to improve product quality and expand the market, but also a motivation for my family to develop more products, contributing to elevating the value of our local products.

The development of the OCOP program in Ninh Phuoc district over the past period has helped businesses change their production methods, improve product quality, expand production scale, diversify advertising and sales channels, and broaden markets; opening opportunities for local people to participate in the production chain and enhance the value of their key products. At the same time, it has created a strong ripple effect on agricultural production and business activities in the district, positively impacting the development of new and effective production models; applying scientific and technological advancements to production, contributing to improving the quality of agricultural products and bringing high efficiency to businesses.
Mr. Dang Nang Tom, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Ninh Phuoc District, said: Through the OCOP Program, from 2020 to the present, the district has developed 24 products that have participated in the evaluation and ranking process and been recognized as OCOP products. In 2023 alone, 4 products were scored and ranked by the District OCOP Product Evaluation Council, achieving 3-star standards. To continue evaluating and ranking OCOP products, the district will direct communes and towns to effectively implement the OCOP Program. Accordingly, the district will strengthen propaganda and mobilize businesses to develop products with potential and advantages in the locality to participate in the OCOP program. It will focus on supporting policies and mechanisms to encourage businesses, cooperatives, and business households to participate in the OCOP Program; and support producers in building trademarks, packaging, documentation, and procedures for OCOP product recognition and upgrading their product rankings. Simultaneously, build a value chain for OCOP products linked to the production areas of each locality; encourage businesses to promote the application of science, technology, and engineering in the production of OCOP products; organize training courses for businesses on the production process of agricultural products and OCOP products. Coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to support trade promotion for OCOP products and unique products of the district that have been recognized, aiming to promote their image and connect consumption; establish several sales points and participate in trade fairs to sell key local specialty products. Focus on promoting products on e-commerce platforms and online sales channels for unique products and OCOP products of the district...
