In the 2024-2025 school year, Ninh Thuan will have 150,889 students/4,749 classes, in 297 educational institutions (an increase of 3,917 students compared to the 2023-2024 school year). The entire Ninh Thuan education sector has 10,474 cadres, teachers, and employees. Through reviewing the norms according to the new circulars of the Ministry of Education and Training, Ninh Thuan still lacks 445 teachers and 485 employees at all levels.
Focus on investing in school facilities
On the morning of September 4, we visited Dai Son Primary School in Phan Rang-Thap Cham City. Ms. Lam Thi Phu, Principal of the school, shared: Previously, on August 30, more than 970 students and all staff, teachers and employees of the school held a rehearsal to arrange the formation, team and rituals to prepare for the opening ceremony of the new school year. Today, the school had a general rehearsal once again to ensure the opening ceremony of the new school year takes place successfully.

Ms. Vu Thi Y, Principal of Thanh Hai 1 Primary School, Phan Rang-Thap Cham City, excitedly said: “This school year, we have invested more than 22 billion VND to build new and repair school facilities and classrooms to meet level 2 standards. The school is also equipped with 18 computers for the IT room. Currently, the teaching staff meets the requirements for implementing teaching and learning according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program, the school is determined to further improve the quality of teaching and learning.”
At Dang Chi Thanh Secondary and High School, Ca Na Commune, Thuan Nam District, the atmosphere of preparing for the opening day of school is quite exciting. Teacher Nguyen Trung Dung, Principal of the school, said: For the new school year, the whole school has 1,317 students, organized into 31 classes. Now, the activities of preparing flags, flowers, welcoming performances, rehearsing the formation, arranging seats for classes, guiding first-grade students to the podium, etc. have been completed, we are eagerly waiting for the moment to join in the joy of the opening day of the new school year across the country.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Ninh Phuoc district has 50 schools with a total of 25,116 students/736 classes at all levels. To ensure facilities and equipment for teaching and learning, Ninh Phuoc district has mobilized resources to build 71 classrooms and 27 subject rooms at schools with a total cost of more than 84.3 billion VND, and at the same time repaired 30 classrooms, toilets, and fences for the following schools: An Hai Kindergarten, Phuoc Khanh Primary School, La Chu Primary School, Phu Quy 1 Primary School and Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School with a total cost of 4.3 billion VND.
Chairman of Ninh Phuoc District People's Committee Ngo Khanh said: With the determination to improve the quality of teaching and learning, the district has focused on investing in education to meet the learning needs of students at all levels according to the 2018 General Education Program, promoting the application of information technology in teaching, mobilizing many funding resources, donating textbooks, reference materials, teaching equipment, and learning supplies to most schools in the district. The whole district has 1,517 managers, teachers and staff, basically meeting the requirements for organizing teaching and learning. However, there is still a shortage of 45 managers, 50 teachers and 142 staff compared to the standards at all levels.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Bac Ai district has 29 schools with 7,135 students/308 classes. In 2023 and the first 6 months of 2024, 27/29 school units will invest in building and repairing classrooms, functional rooms, multi-purpose halls, toilets, clean water facilities... to put into use in the new school year 2024-2025, bringing the total number of classrooms serving the 2024-2025 school year to 398, basically ensuring 2 sessions/day teaching and meeting the 2018 General Education Program (1 class/room).
Along with investing in facilities, the District Department of Education and Training has also increased the staff to 680 officers and teachers (100% of teachers meet the standards of training and professional standards, higher than the average level of the province), meeting the teaching needs at schools.

Excited to start the new school year
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Thuan province Nguyen Anh Linh added that, continuing to implement the 2018 General Education Program for grades 5, 9 and 12, the unit has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue criteria for selecting textbooks for use in educational institutions in the province according to the circular of the Ministry of Education and Training. It has organized training and fostering on the use of textbooks for grades 5, 9 and 12 for school staff and teachers.
Ninh Thuan Books and School Equipment Joint Stock Company, agents, and stationery stores proactively imported 1.1 million textbooks of all levels and a large number of books, notebooks, teaching and learning equipment. Mr. Nguyen Huu Loi, Director of Ninh Thuan Books and School Equipment Joint Stock Company, said: Currently, the amount of textbooks basically meets the needs of parents and students. This year, the price of textbooks of the Vietnam Education Publishing House has decreased by 15-20%, so the company has recommended and promoted to parents and students to buy textbooks at reputable points of sale to choose the right set of books for students to study, avoiding the case of buying fake, poor quality books.

On the eve of the new school year, the movement to support going to school in Ninh Thuan is very active, hundreds of organizations and individuals in the province organize many practical activities such as: Awarding scholarships, giving savings books, health cards, clothes, notebooks... worth billions of VND to hundreds of students, poor students, students from ethnic minority areas, to share difficulties with poor students, actively contributing to the development of the nation's education cause.
