The next-generation Nissan Micra has been officially unveiled and will go on sale in Europe in late 2025. The Micra now joins four new EVs that Nissan plans to launch in Europe by 2027, the others being the next-generation Leaf and Juke, along with an as-yet unnamed A-segment model. As previously reported, the Micra is a CUV-B model built on the CMF-B EV platform (now called AmpR Small), similar to the Renault 5 E-Tech. Therefore, the powertrains of these two cars are also shared. Specifically, the 122 horsepower and 225 Nm torque engine comes with a 40 kWh battery pack.
If you want more power, there’s a 52 kWh battery version, along with a 150 PS (148 hp or 110 kW) and 245 Nm motor. Depending on WLTP certification, the 40 kWh variant offers a range of up to 310 km, while the 52 kWh battery is expected to provide 408 km. The Micra will support DC fast charging at up to 100 kW (52 kWh battery) or 80 kW (40 kWh battery), with a 15-80% charge taking 30 minutes. There's also a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system to power external devices. Nissan's e-Pedal system is available in this model, which incorporates regenerative braking. The driver can also adjust this regenerative braking via the "pedal" behind the steering wheel. Selectable drive modes are also available that adjust power and torque delivery, throttle response, steering tuning, and more.
Similar to the Renault 5 E-Tech, the Nissan Micra has a 2.54m wheelbase, a length of less than 4m and a height of 1.8m. The car's appearance is inspired by the Concept 20-23 concept car. The body is neat with impressive round daytime running lights, surrounding rectangular headlights. Roofline, door mirrors, thick C-pillars, unique wheel designs... are other special details on this Nissan model. According to Nissan, the Micra will have 14 exterior color combinations. Depending on the version, the roof will be available in black or gray. Inside, the Micra has a driver-focused dashboard, with details such as the 10.1-inch infotainment screen, 10.1-inch digital clock, air-conditioning vents, center console... all tilted towards the person behind the wheel.
The Nissan Micra also features features like steering wheel-mounted mode selector, electronic parking brake, USB-C ports and wireless charging. Seat upholstery will depend on the chosen version, with customers able to choose from three versions called Modern, Audacious and Chill. There's also a 48-color ambient lighting system, the NissanConnect infotainment system with Google integration, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, and the Nissan ProPilot ADAS suite.
