Quang Nam farmers become "actors and singers" competing through lyrics and songs about the new countryside

On the evening of October 22, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province opened the third mass art festival of communes building new rural areas in Quang Nam province in 2024.

The festival has 17 teams from districts, towns and cities in Quang Nam province. Accordingly, with the theme "new countryside - aspiration to rise up", the teams participate in 2 competitions, the skit competition includes folk drama, spoken drama, spoken play, folk songs... In the art competition, each unit participates in 3 performances including genres such as solo, duet, trio, group singing; solo dance, couple dance, group dance; music genre with solo, duet, trio and ensemble...

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "This festival with the full participation of districts, towns and cities, has demonstrated and affirmed the trust and political responsibility of localities in implementing the national target program on new rural construction".

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan said that building new rural areas is one of three major national target programs to concretize the Party and State's policies on rural areas, agriculture, and farmers, aiming at the goal of comprehensively developing all aspects of economic and social life in rural areas.

"For Quang Nam province, after nearly 15 years of implementation, the national target program on new rural construction has achieved many remarkable achievements, truly making profound changes and positive changes in farmers' awareness, thinking, and creative ways of working; the satisfaction index with the lives of rural residents through the new rural construction program has increased substantially.

The appearance of Quang Nam's countryside has many innovations and improvements with suitable, creative and vibrant rural socio-economic development models, especially innovative models of production organization in the direction of cooperative economic development, value chain linkage, associated with focusing on rural economic development through the development of local products; at the same time, promoting new rural construction associated with embellishing and preserving landscapes and the environment, building new rural models that are bright - green - clean - beautiful, implemented synchronously in localities," Mr. Tuan shared.

Up to now, the whole Quang Nam province has 129 communes meeting new rural standards (reaching a rate of 66.8%); 22 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; Dai Hiep commune, Dai Loc district and Dien Quang commune, Dien Ban town meeting the standard of model new rural commune; 275 model new rural villages (rate of 29%); the average number of new rural criteria meeting the standards in the whole province is 16.37 criteria/commune; 4 district-level localities have met the standards and completed the task of building new rural areas, it is expected that by the end of 2024, Tien Phuoc district will also meet the standard of a new rural district.

"Notably in the cultural field, the system of cultural institutions has received investment and construction to meet the standards of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Many localities have focused on building and developing various types of cultural, artistic and mass sports clubs; registering to build outstanding model new-style rural communes in culture, and building a rural cultural environment.

The third mass art festival of communes building new rural areas in 2024 with the theme "new rural areas - aspirations to rise up" aims to continue to affirm, honor and further spread cultural values on the journey of building new rural areas; encourage and motivate localities and people of all walks of life to make efforts, promote creativity, consolidate the great national unity bloc, fine cultural traditions, join hands to implement and improve the quality of criteria for building new rural areas, contributing to building an increasingly rich and civilized homeland...", Mr. Tuan emphasized.

Also according to Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, in addition, the third mass art festival of communes building new rural areas in Quang Nam province in 2024 will be an opportunity for farmers, as the main actors, to exchange and compete in each song and dance; exchange experiences in organizing cultural and artistic activities in the locality; and arouse the spiritual and cultural life of the people.

This is also a playground for localities in the province to express their belief in victory with positive results achieved after nearly 15 years of implementing the construction of the new rural areas; at the same time, through the festival, it aims to encourage and motivate cultural and artistic movements in residential areas, preserve and promote traditional cultural and artistic forms, folk songs, folk dances and folk music of Quang Nam.
