On a seemingly abandoned 200m2 area, Mr. Bui Van Duong has built a systematic, closed system of cages to raise Thai pigeons. The scientific arrangement helps minimize disease and optimize reproductive efficiency. Photo: TP The Thai Titan bird breed has a large, strong body, good resistance, and high fertility - it is the choice that Mr. Duong prioritizes for breeding and model development. Photo: TP The main food sources for birds are corn, rice, and bran – of which Mr. Duong actively grows corn to reduce costs. Birds are fed on time, in just the right amount, and are also given regular disease prevention to ensure the health of the whole flock. Photo: TP After 6 months of age, each pair of birds will lay eggs regularly. On average, each month, Mr. Duong's bird farm collects about 750 breeding eggs - an important input source for the incubator and supplying breeding to the market. Photo: TP The eggs are placed in a modern incubator, maintaining the appropriate temperature and humidity. After about 15-17 days, the eggs hatch at a rate of over 80% - giving birth to healthy chicks. Photo: TP The newly born chicks are the result of perseverance and care from the selection of breeds to the incubation techniques. Each new batch of birds will supply breeding birds to the market or be kept to expand the flock. Photo: TP After about 25–30 days, each bird weighs about 0.6kg – ready to be sold. The current price of meat birds is about 100,000 VND/bird, while qualified breeding birds are sold for 300,000 VND/pair. Photo: TP Currently, Mr. Duong's farm has more than 400 pigeons. Each month, this model brings in an income of over 10 million VND, about 100 million VND per year. Photo: TP
