Currently, the rosewood tree (a precious wood species) is planted quite a lot on the streets in the inner city of Dong Xoai ( Binh Phuoc province), especially on Highway 14. These days, the rosewood tree is blooming quite beautifully.

Right in the middle of the busiest urban area of Dong Xoai City, the rosewood trees on both sides of Highway 14 are quietly blooming purple.

Rosewood flowers bloom in large clusters in the leaf axils or at the ends of branches, each cluster is a dense mass of flowers with many small flower clusters. When blooming, the petals will turn pale purple, white and fall off.

The purple color is poetic but if you don't pay attention, it's hard to notice, even for those who have been attached to wood for many years.

In front of Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh's woodworking facility in Tan Dong ward, Dong Xoai city is a row of rosewood trees planted by the State as construction trees, each tree is about 3-4m high.

These days, many trees are blooming purple flowers. Mr. Chinh shared: “I have been exposed to rosewood for a long time but did not pay attention to the flowers.

Surprisingly, this year the rosewood tree in front of the house bloomed a beautiful purple color. But if you don't pay attention, it's hard to detect because the flowers are high up and the color is dark."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich, a flower lover in Tien Thanh ward, Dong Xoai city, said: “Every early morning, I often walk along the sidewalk to exercise. These past few days, I have seen a rather strange type of flower, the purple color looks very beautiful. The air in Dong Xoai city is currently cool, looking at the flower, it is easy to associate it with the purple phoenix flower of Da Lat city, Lam Dong province. I have lived here for quite a long time, but this year I have just noticed a few trees with flowers. I asked and found out that this is a rosewood tree.

Rosewood is currently grown as a construction tree in many urban areas in the province. After 3 years, the tree will bloom.

To begin the flowering season, the tree usually sheds all its leaves, leaving its branches bare for a few days to bud and then bloom into clusters of lovely flowers.

Flowers can bloom simultaneously on the same tree but not evenly, some trees bloom first, some bloom later in the same row. So the flowering season usually lasts 1-2 months. Rosewood belongs to the group of precious woods.

In addition to providing wood to make items for people's daily life, the color of rosewood flowers also helps to beautify the landscape of urban areas.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Ha in Tan Phu ward, Dong Xoai city confided: I have known about this flower for a long time. In recent years, after Tet, I have seen the tree start to bloom sporadically, very beautiful.

In addition to providing shade, the rosewood also gives me a comfortable feeling when walking and strolling in the early morning and late afternoon. The flowers bloom evenly for a whole week before falling off. If the rosewood trees are treated to bloom simultaneously, Dong Xoai City will be really beautiful.
