Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet is the Chairman of Son La province.

On November 7, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of Son La Provincial Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee with an absolute number of votes at the 25th thematic session of the Son La Provincial People's Council.

The 25th thematic session carried out the procedure for dismissing Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Electing Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, to the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Provincial Party Secretary, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh presented flowers to congratulate the new Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet was born in 1977, in Yen My town, Yen My district, Hung Yen province; professional qualifications: Master of Commerce, Business Administration; advanced political theory level.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet used to work as an expert at the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Hung Yen province; an expert at the Economic Department, Office of the National Assembly; Head of Department, Secretary of the Chairman of the Economic Committee; Deputy Head of the Economic Department and then Head of the Economic Department, Office of the National Assembly; Deputy Head of the Economic Committee of the 15th National Assembly.

Previously, on November 5, the Standing Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee held a conference to implement Decision No. 1640-QDNS/TW, dated October 30, 2024 of the Central Party Secretariat on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Chairman of the Economic Committee of the 15th National Assembly, to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
