On May 22, Mr. Duong Cong Minh, Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( Sacombank ) , signed a decision to recruit and appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhung to the position of Acting General Director of Sacombank from May 27.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhung, born in 1968, graduated with a Master's degree in Finance - Banking, a Bachelor's degree in Law and has more than 22 years of experience in the banking industry.

Before being appointed by the Board of Directors of Sacombank as Acting General Director, Mr. Nhung held the position of General Director of Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Vietbank) from 2014 to 2016.

In addition, he has also held many management positions at Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) such as Head of Credit Management Department, Director of Operational Supervision Division, and Deputy General Director in charge of debt settlement.

Regarding Sacombank's senior leadership, on May 21, Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem sent a letter to the Board of Directors, management staff and all employees of Sacombank, announcing her resignation from the position of General Director of this bank. However, in her current role as Permanent Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ms. Diem will continue her duties, contributing to the development of the bank.

Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem, born in 1973, has many years of experience in the fields of economics , finance and banking. She started working at Sacombank in 2002 and has had 11 years in management and operations roles at transaction offices, branch operations departments, Ho Chi Minh City Regional Office, South Central and Central Highlands regions and the entire Sacombank system.

During her 8 years as General Director of Sacombank, Ms. Diem is known to customers and investors as one of the senior leaders who has built a united and strong team, contributing to the journey of restructuring, recovery and strong development of Sacombank.

With the above information, Sacombank shares (stock code STB) have fluctuated significantly. Specifically, after a sharp increase of 5.8% to VND41,800/share at the end of May 21, by 11:30 a.m. on May 22, STB shares continued to increase, reaching VND41,900/share.
