Trump releases video of airstrike on Houthi

(CLO) On April 4, US President Donald Trump shared a video of a recent airstrike on Houthi forces with the caption: "They will never sink our ships again."

"These Houthis are gathering to receive orders to attack. There will be no more attacks from these Houthis! They will never sink our ships again!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The black and white footage appears to capture a group of people gathering, then a powerful explosion occurs, creating a large crater.

For the past 20 days, the Trump administration has carried out daily airstrikes on Iranian-backed rebels, after the Houthis repeatedly threatened Israeli ships last month over Israel’s suspension of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Late last month, the group claimed responsibility for attacks on the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and several U.S. warships in the Red Sea. Sources previously said the Houthis had shot down three U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones since March 3.

The US State Department announced sanctions after the Houthis shot down the first Reaper in early March, and on April 1, it followed up with sanctions against “financial facilitators, procurement personnel, and companies operating as part of the global illicit financial network supporting the Houthis.”

On March 31, Mr. Trump shared on Truth Social that the Houthi forces had been "destroyed by continuous airstrikes over the past two weeks," adding that US attacks would continue until the Houthis "are no longer a threat to freedom of navigation. The Houthis' choice is clear: Stop firing on our ships, and we will stop firing on you."

Mr Trump also sent a message to Iran on March 31, warning that if the attacks did not stop, Washington would target Tehran next.
