Mr. Vo Trong Hai was elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vo Trong Hai was elected by the Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province for the 2021-2026 term, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Le Hong Vinh.

On the afternoon of November 18, the People's Council of Nghe An province, term XVIII, 2021-2026, held a thematic session (34th session) to conduct personnel work.

At the meeting, with 100% of the delegates in agreement, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vo Trong Hai was elected by the Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province for the 2021-2026 term, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Le Hong Vinh.

In his acceptance speech, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Vo Trong Hai said: "Each vote of confidence today is a great trust and expectation of voters and delegates of the Provincial People's Council. That trust is the driving force for me to constantly strive, work hard, and devote myself to the development of Nghe An province."

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province affirmed that he will innovate thinking and flexible, creative and drastic management methods for real results; build an honest, active and serving government, taking the satisfaction of people and businesses as a measure; promote growth based on innovation, digital transformation, green transformation; care for human development, improve people's lives, ensure social security, maintain discipline and stability; arouse the strength of great national unity, foster the aspiration to rise strongly.

Mr. Vo Trong Hai was born in 1968, hometown Hoa Lac commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province; now Duc Tho commune, Ha Tinh province.

Before being transferred to Nghe An, Mr. Vo Trong Hai held many positions such as: Head of Cau Treo International Border Guard Station, Ha Tinh Provincial Border Guard; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Director of Ha Tinh Provincial Police; Director of Nghe An Provincial Police.

From April 2021 to September 2025, Mr. Vo Trong Hai was Deputy Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

From October 2 to November 13, 2025, he was Deputy Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Also at the session, the People's Council of Nghe An province dismissed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, term XVIII, 2021-2026; dismissed Mr. Le Hong Vinh (former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee) from his duties as a delegate of the People's Council of the term XVIII, 2021-2026, and at the same time conducted the procedure to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung (former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee) from his duties as a delegate of the People's Council of the term XVIII, 2021-2026 due to a job transfer.

Previously, on November 7, 2025, the Politburo issued Decision No. 2509-QDNS/TW on personnel work.

According to the decision of the Politburo, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, ceased to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee and ceased to hold the position of Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; was transferred and appointed to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

According to Decision No. 2527-QDNS/TW dated November 14, 2025 of the Politburo on personnel work, Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province ceased to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and ceased to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term; was transferred and appointed to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term./.
