Nafoods Group reaps sweet fruits thanks to its science and technology foundation

Up to now, Nafoods Group has had a series of processed fruit products including IQF single frozen fruits (pineapple, banana, mango, dragon fruit); dried and crispy dried fruits (dried passion fruit, dried mango, dried pineapple, dried dragon fruit, dried papaya, dried custard apple, crispy jackfruit, crispy dried vegetables); freeze-dried fruits (dragon fruit, durian, mango); concentrated fruit juice, Puree/NFC with main fruits such as passion fruit, pineapple, mango, lychee, dragon fruit, banana, kumquat...

To develop fruit material areas, Nafoods Group has applied a smart growing area management system combined with traceability using OTAS digital technology . Data on soil conditions, climate, nutrition, and plant growth are digitized and periodically analyzed to improve productivity, optimize costs, and control input quality, thereby helping farmers and associated cooperatives significantly improve productivity and profits.

From the beginning, Nafoods Group has aimed to build a green - digital - sustainable agriculture, in which the application of science and technology and innovation is identified as the core foundation. In turn, 5 modern factories have been invested in a synchronous European technology processing line system, meeting international standards BRCGS, HACCP, ISO 22000, Halal, Kosher, FDA, SGF, FSSC... This is the launching pad to help Nafoods Group's key fruit products qualify to conquer demanding markets such as the EU, US, Japan, Korea and the Middle East.

In the third quarter of 2025, Nafoods Group will continue to commence the Nasoco factory expansion project in Tay Ninh (formerly Long An). In addition, the Group will also proactively cooperate with FMO, respondsAbility and other green financial institutions to accelerate the green transformation of the production system, aiming to reduce emissions and improve the efficiency of energy and raw materials use throughout the value chain.

Nafoods Group is one of the few enterprises in Vietnam that is fully proactive in the agricultural value chain, from seeds to finished products. This group owns two high-tech seed research and development institutes with a total greenhouse area of ​​12 hectares, with a capacity to supply 15 million disease-free seedlings per year.

Nafoods Group also cooperates with Chung Hsing University (Taiwan) to transfer advanced technology from Taiwan and Japan to proactively breed and select high-quality passion fruit varieties (Nafoods 1, Tai Non one, Que Phong 1, Dai Nong 1...). The common point of these varieties is good adaptability, giving outstanding productivity.

To sustainably develop raw material areas, Nafoods Group applies VietGAP/GlobalGAP production processes, uses organic fertilizers, biological products, water-saving irrigation systems and digitalized traceability systems, and uses modern machinery and equipment to improve production efficiency.

Every year, Nafoods Group signs contracts with thousands of cooperatives and farmers with a total output of over 200,000 tons of products. Immediately after harvest, fresh fruits are transported to the processing plant to ensure the best quality. The entire processing process is strictly controlled to ensure consistent product quality, safety, and especially to retain natural nutritional value.

Currently, Nafoods Group's 5 factories produce more than 40,000 tons of finished products each year, exporting to more than 70 countries, not to mention supplying a large amount for domestic consumption needs.

Nghe An is a strategic location.

As the headquarters and the center of production, processing and export, Nghe An is a strategic location in the development ecosystem of Nafoods Group. The Group has a strategy to build a raw material area that meets international standards, ensuring traceability in the sunny and windy land of Nghe An, on the one hand meeting the raw material needs of export processing factories, on the other hand harmoniously sharing benefits with farmers and local authorities.

Nafoods Group has realized this strategy by pioneering the construction of the High-tech Seedling Research and Development Institute in the mountainous commune of Tri Le since 2014 with a scale of 6 hectares, a capacity of 7 million disease-free seedlings/year. After 11 years of presence, Nafoods Group has created a push to comprehensively improve the once-difficult strip of land. The appearance of Tri Le is now different thanks to hundreds of local workers having jobs with stable incomes.

In addition to the passion fruit trees that have taken root in the star fruit trees, Nafoods Group has boldly developed a 100-hectare pineapple material area in Tri Le commune, along with 2,000 hectares of pineapple production in Quynh Thang and Quynh Tam communes of Quynh Luu district (old). With the existing foundation, the Group is confident that it will expand the pineapple material area to more than 5,000 hectares by 2030, this destination is completely within reach.

In early 2025, when working with Naprod Fruit and Vegetable Processing Factory for Export (under Nafoods Group Joint Stock Company), Mr. Nguyen Van De, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, requested Nafoods Group to urgently implement steps to ensure the progress of building raw material areas. During the implementation process, the province will create conditions for Nafoods Group to establish and standardize growing area codes to ensure traceability of raw materials.

In terms of business perspective, Nafoods Group is always loyal to the "5-house" value chain linkage model (State - scientist - enterprise - farmer - investor), in which enterprises play a core role, committed to purchasing 100% of products at a stable floor price; supplying materials, seeds, technical guidance and production management according to standards; training, technical training and transferring sustainable farming technology; applying growing area management software to help farmers monitor productivity, forecast pest and disease developments, markets and trace origin.

The goal of Nafoods Group is to work with farmers to build a modern, green, responsible agricultural model, ensuring economic efficiency for growers and sustainability for businesses. Particularly in Nghe An, pineapple is a strategic product that the Group focuses on developing raw material areas and expanding production scale in the coming time.
