Having been involved in chicken farming for many years, since 2018, Mr. Trinh Dinh Dong's family (Quy Loc commune, Thanh Hoa) has taken a new step forward when joining a business. Previously, Mr. Dong only maintained a small flock of chickens, from 1,000 to 1,500 chickens per litter. During the farming process, each epidemic season made Mr. Dong worried.

“The partnership with Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd. has helped me access chicken farming techniques. The farm is designed in a closed-cage model, ensuring disease safety. The entire process of caring for the chicken flock is carefully guided by Japfa's technical staff and veterinarians, helping me master the safe farming process and effective disease prevention,” said Mr. Dong.
Thanks to the professional advice from the company's engineers, Mr. Dong built a barn of more than 3,500 square meters and increased the size of the flock to 10,000 - 12,000 chickens per batch. To ensure disease safety, the entire barn is closed. After each batch of chickens, Mr. Dong collects the rice husks lining the floor to sell to the fertilizer production unit.
The coop is then scrubbed with a high-powered water hose, treated with potassium permanganate and fumigated for 3 days to kill insects and bacteria. The time for disinfection and cleaning of the dry coop lasts from 10 days to 1 month to ensure cleanliness and no more pathogens before releasing the new batch of chickens.

As a participant in this form of farming, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong of Quy Loc commune said that the farm is always provided with breeds, feed, vaccines, veterinary medicine and full technical instructions by the associated company. All commercial chicken products after reaching standard weight are guaranteed to be consumed, helping farmers feel secure about output and stable income.
Up to now, Quy Loc commune has about 20 chicken farms with a scale of 10,000 - 20,000 chickens/batch. This linkage model not only brings economic efficiency to participants but is also a clear demonstration that the application of modern techniques, support from businesses and strict management can help household farming develop sustainably, ensure disease safety and increase product value.
The model of joint chicken farming in Quy Loc commune is showing clear effectiveness in disease prevention and control. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, a veterinary officer of Quy Loc commune, said that the application of joint farming in cold farms has created a better controlled farming environment, minimizing disease-causing factors. The barn system is invested in spacious, ensuring ventilation thanks to fans and temperature control equipment, helping the chickens grow stably, reducing the risk of infection from the outside environment.

“The joint farms all use feed sources, breeds and vaccines with clear origins, meeting biosafety requirements. The joint enterprises also send engineers to directly monitor, guide the care process and support farmers in recognizing and predicting disease risks early. Thanks to that, preventive measures are implemented promptly, contributing to minimizing risks and improving farming efficiency. In fact, the joint model not only brings peace of mind to farmers, but is also a suitable direction to ensure disease safety in the context of livestock farming facing more and more challenges,” said Ms. Thanh.
The leader of Quy Loc Commune People's Committee said that recently, the chicken farming model in association with Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd. has clearly affirmed its effectiveness, opening up a sustainable development direction for the local livestock industry. From that reality, the commune has a policy of encouraging households to boldly build farms in concentrated livestock farm clusters. Thereby, speeding up the progress of infrastructure completion and forming concentrated and synchronous production areas.
