According to Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control Hoang Hai Phuc, during and after storms and floods, many microorganisms, dust, garbage, and waste flow into many places, causing environmental pollution and posing many potential risks of disease; especially in flooded areas, these are favorable conditions for bacteria, viruses, and disease vectors to grow and cause diseases to humans.

Therefore, the center requires local health stations to promptly guide people in flooded villages to continue implementing environmental treatment measures and water treatment according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health .

The working group of the Central Highlands Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology inspected the environmental sanitation, clean water, and disease prevention due to floods in Ea Rok commune.

Dr. Bui Khanh Toan, Deputy Director of the Central Highlands Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, emphasized that ensuring clean water and a hygienic environment is the key to preventing infectious diseases such as diarrhea, dengue fever, intestinal diseases, dermatitis, etc.

Currently, in Ea Rok commune, there have been no recorded cases of infectious diseases due to water pollution, but if the environment is not promptly treated, the risk of disease appearing and spreading is very high.

Therefore, in the coming time, the local health sector needs to quickly deploy clean water treatment and environmental sanitation work to help people stabilize their lives soon and control post-flood epidemics in residential areas.
