The public can watch movies for free at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.

The press conference was chaired by: Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong; Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy; Director of the Cinema Department Dang Tran Cuong; Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival is a national cultural and artistic event held in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

In particular, the Festival took place in Ho Chi Minh City, in the context of the City being recognized by UNESCO as a "Creative City of Cinema", demonstrating a strong transformation, affirming the role of the cultural center of the City named after Uncle Ho.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong gave an overview of the festival's activities.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said that with the slogan "Vietnamese Cinema - Sustainable development and international integration in the new era", the 24th Vietnam Film Festival not only honors excellent cinematographic works, but also affirms the mettle and aspiration of Vietnamese cinema in the journey of deep integration with the world .

The Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism informed that this year's festival has many diverse activities such as exhibition programs; film screenings; exchanges between artists and audiences; specialized seminars and initiatives to apply technology in film production, promotion and distribution.

“We pay special attention to honoring Vietnamese identity in cinema and creating conditions for international film crews to cooperate, improve production quality and expand international markets,” Mr. Dong emphasized.

Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee talked about coordination work to make the 24th Vietnam Film Festival solemn and meaningful.

On the Ho Chi Minh City side, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that up to this point, the City has prepared logistics for the 24th Vietnam Film Festival to open on the evening of November 21.

“With the work contents agreed with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City will make every effort, focus resources and favorable conditions to organize the Vietnam Film Festival with the highest results; contribute to promoting the image of a dynamic, youthful city with many creative potentials; a center for production, exchange and international cooperation in cinema art; aiming to build Ho Chi Minh City as a creative, friendly and unique city”, said the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.

Regarding the specific activities of the Film Festival, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy said that the public will be able to watch movies for free at three large cinema complexes: Galaxy Park Mall - Ta Quang Buu, Chanh Hung ward; CGV Hung Vuong Plaza - Hong Bang, Cho Lon ward; Cinestar Hai Ba Trung, Saigon ward.

In addition, at Galaxy Nguyen Du Cinema (Ben Thanh Ward), there will be a screening and interaction with the film crew of "Red Rain". This is also the opening film for the 24th Vietnam Film Festival in 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on November 21 at the City Theater, there will be an activity of giving away 1,500 free tickets to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival and the Ceremony to receive the UNESCO title " Ho Chi Minh City - Global Creative City of Cinema".
