On November 24, the Organizing Committee of the VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight Powered by Puma 2025 held a press conference to inform about the tournament.
According to the Organizing Committee, the VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight Powered by Puma 2025 officially kicked off at 0:00 on November 30 with nearly 10,000 athletes competing.
The VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2025 night run marks 5 years of formation and development of one of the most popular sporting events in Hanoi.
The organizers said that the 21km distance had the largest number of entries with more than 4,000 athletes. The 42km distance recorded a significant increase with 2,500 registrants, showing the shift of the Hanoi running community as more and more runners want to conquer longer distances.
The route of the VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2025 continues to pass through the symbols of the capital such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Opera House, Long Bien Bridge, Old Quarter... bringing the experience of admiring Hanoi in the space of light and sound at night.
The official VMHM 2025 jersey continues to use the familiar pink color - the color that has become the hallmark of the tournament over the years. The design is modern and minimalist, with the number 5 on the sleeve, marking the 5-year journey of the event. During the competition night, the "pink wave" is expected to cover the streets, spreading the spirit of "Go Wild Midnight".
This year’s Finisher shirt comes in two versions: the 21km shirt features a midnight blue color that transitions to light, emphasizing the spirit of innovation; while the 42km shirt uses a white-turquoise color scheme, made from a water-resistant material specifically for marathon finishers. Each shirt is a symbol of endurance, marking the runner’s efforts in the middle of the night in Hanoi.
The VMHM 2025 medal tells the complete story of the half-decade journey. The image of the VMHM-05 train in the center symbolizes the overnight train that has been rolling non-stop with the runner community. Behind is the Hanoi Flag Tower and Long Bien Bridge - the historical symbols of the city; above is the Hanoi Railway Station, representing the starting point of every journey. The back is engraved with the words: "5 years of brilliant journey, where millions of footsteps touch the soul of the old town".
In addition to the unique running experience, this year’s race carries the message of “Smoke-free Green Run”, encouraging awareness of environmental protection, keeping the space clean and reducing cigarette waste. This is considered an effort to spread the spirit of green sports and community responsibility right in the heart of the capital.
As the fifth season, the organizers said that Hanoi Midnight has become an event with its own identity in the VnExpress Marathon system, for runners who prefer a different experience from the morning races. Attracting 10,000 athletes, including many international runners, is considered a highlight to close the autumn-winter season in Hanoi, and at the same time creates a premise for the system to continue expanding in the coming years.
VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2025 will distribute racekits at Tran Nhan Tong walking street on November 28 and 29. The official race will take place at 0:00 on November 30, with the 42km distance starting first, followed by 21km, 10km and 5km.
