Artificial intelligence company OpenAI has just expanded its ChatGPT Go service, its cheapest subscription package, to 16 new countries in Asia, including Vietnam, to help users have easier access to the latest GPT-5 technology.
“Making ChatGPT more accessible and affordable” was one of the most frequently asked user requests in recent times, according to an announcement by Regional Director Nick Turley on October 9.
ChatGPT Go was launched in India and Indonesia earlier this year for 399 rupees (about $4.50) per month – a fraction of OpenAI’s premium plans. Pricing in other Asian markets may vary by region.
With the new expansion, ChatGPT Go is now available in 18 countries, including: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Vietnam.
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Go includes all the features of the free version, while adding expanded access to imaging tools, file uploads, advanced data analysis, and more, with higher usage limits for key chats and widgets.
In addition to ChatGPT Go, OpenAI currently offers two other paid personal plans: ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) and ChatGPT Pro ($200/month), as well as a business plan for $25/month.
Since its launch in late 2022, ChatGPT has quickly become one of the most widely used AI tools in the world . According to OpenAI data, user growth in low-income countries is expected to be more than four times higher than in rich countries by May 2025.
OpenAI said the ChatGPT Go package will be rolled out gradually to users in the region.
Currently, users in Cambodia, Laos and Nepal can register for ChatGPT Go on the web and Android platforms, while the iOS version is still in the process of being completed. /.
