"It's terrible. They're a poor team at the moment," Scholes told Premier League Productions after Man Utd's 0-1 loss to Newcastle in round 14 of the Premier League on December 2.

Newcastle completely dominated the game until winger Anthony Gordon opened the scoring in the 55th minute.

The striker duo Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were completely out of place in this match. Although coach Ten Hag sent Rasmus Hojlund and Antony on to replace them, Man Utd had the better game but were powerless to equalize and accepted defeat against the "Magpies".

Remarkably, Man Utd have lost to all the teams above them in the Premier League table this season.

"The wins they have had recently do not reflect their true level. There are too many lazy players in the team, everyone can see this.

"Obviously to win against strong opponents, the first thing you have to do is work hard. You could see the joy when Newcastle dominated both halves and feel sorry for the full-backs after their tireless efforts but only one goal," Paul Scholes expressed.

Not only Paul Scholes, English football legend Alan Shearer also harshly criticized Man Utd for the "Red Devils" poor performance in the loss to the "Magpies".

"Newcastle completely defeated Man Utd in every aspect. Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento played excellently against Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot.

The "Red Devils" defense received no help from Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford. Rashford was completely inattentive, not even interested in supporting the defense.

It happened so many times. Newcastle created so many chances and they should have had more goals," Alan Shearer affirmed.

Notably, Alan Shearer affirmed that the playing attitude of Man Utd's stars was the reason why the Old Trafford team lost to Newcastle.

"For me, there are too many Man Utd players who deserve criticism. The attitude of many players is unacceptable.

"When things are going well, they can act however they want. But when things are not going well, the team is struggling and needs players to roll up their sleeves, this team doesn't have those types of players," Alan Shearer concluded.
