ANTD.VN - On November 22, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ) held a ceremony to celebrate the early completion of important production and financial targets in 2023.

2023 is a year of many difficulties for the business community nationwide in general, the Oil and Gas industry and Petrovietnam in particular. These are large fluctuations in supply - demand and sharp declines in prices of energy products compared to 2022, in which crude oil prices decrease by 17-38%, fertilizer prices decrease by 25-30%, and petrochemical refining profit margins decrease by 24-26%. In addition, global inflation remains high, demand for consumer goods declines sharply...
However, with the close direction of the Government , the support of Central and local Departments/Ministries/Sectors, and especially the solidarity, self-reliance, self-reliance, and high determination of all officers, employees, and workers of the Group, along with the effective and timely promotion of experience in managing fluctuations of the Group's Executive Board, Petrovietnam has completed and reached the target ahead of schedule for the whole year of 2023 in most important production and business targets.

Specifically, Petrovietnam has completed all financial targets 1.5 - 5 months ahead of the 2023 plan assigned by the Government, the State Budget Management Board and the Group's Board of Directors. Of which, the Group's budget payment completed the yearly plan 5 months ahead of the plan (reaching 78.3 trillion VND on July 30, 2023); the 10-month implementation reached 121 trillion VND, exceeding the yearly plan by 54%. The Group's consolidated profit completed the yearly plan 4 months ahead of the plan (reaching 34.7 trillion VND on August 31, 2023); the 10-month implementation reached 44.1 trillion VND, exceeding the yearly plan by 27%. The Group's total revenue completed the yearly plan 2 months and 20 days ahead of the plan (reaching 677.7 trillion VND on October 10, 2023); 10-month implementation reached 745 trillion VND, exceeding 10% of the annual plan. The Group's total consolidated revenue completed the yearly plan 2 months and 18 days ahead of schedule (reaching 413.7 trillion VND on October 12, 2023); 10-month implementation reached 440.4 trillion VND, exceeding 6% of the annual plan.
Total revenue of the Parent Company - Group completed the yearly plan 1 month and 15 days ahead of schedule (reaching VND 181.6 trillion on November 15, 2023); Pre-tax profit of the Parent Company - Group completed the yearly plan 4 months ahead of schedule (reaching VND 10.9 trillion on August 31, 2023); after 10 months, it reached VND 18.9 trillion, exceeding 73% of the yearly plan.

Two prominent areas contributing significantly to the completion of Petrovietnam's financial results are oil and gas exploration and exploitation, oil and gas processing, storage and distribution of oil and gas products.
Petrovietnam's oil and gas exploration and exploitation sector had a great success in 2023 when it completed the target of increasing oil and gas reserves for the whole year 1 month and 10 days ahead of schedule (reaching 12 million tons of oil equivalent/the whole year plan of 8-16 million tons of oil equivalent by November 20, 2023). At the same time, Petrovietnam made 2 new oil and gas discoveries at Block 16-2 (Ha Ma Vang -1X well) and at Block PM3-CAA (Bunga Lavatera-1 well). This is a very encouraging result as for the first time in the past 5 years, the Group has made 2 new discoveries in one year.
Domestic oil production completed the yearly plan 1 month and 18 days ahead of schedule, reaching 7.52 million tons on November 12, 2023. As of November 21, domestic oil production reached 7.71 million tons, exceeding the yearly plan by 2.5%, contributing significantly to the Group completing the yearly oil production plan (domestic and foreign) by reaching 9.29 million tons on November 21 - 1 month and 9 days ahead of schedule.

In the production sector, Petrovietnam's petroleum production output (excluding Nghi Son) completed the yearly plan 2 months and 25 days ahead of schedule (reaching 5.53 million tons on October 6, 2023); after 10 months, it reached 6.08 million tons, exceeding the yearly plan by 10%, up 6.0% over the same period in 2022.
The Group's petroleum business output completed the annual plan 2 months ahead of schedule (reaching 9.06 million tons on October 30, 2023. PVOIL completed the annual plan of 3.3 million tons 4 months ahead of schedule; PVNDB is expected to complete the annual plan of 5.76 million tons 20 days ahead of schedule (on December 10-11, 2023), contributing significantly to maintaining the supply of petroleum to serve the task of socio-economic development, thereby affirming that Petrovietnam has performed well the task assigned by the Government, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade : "In all situations, there must be no interruption or shortage of petroleum supply to serve the task of socio-economic development".
The results achieved have shown the effectiveness in the management and operation of Petrovietnam as well as the efforts of contractors and units in implementing exploration and production activities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Petrovietnam General Director Le Manh Hung said that under the timely direction of the Government, ministries, branches, the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises, the close supervision and responsibility in the management and administration of the Board of Directors, the Board of General Directors and above all the solidarity, unity, solidarity, and efforts to overcome difficulties of all officers, employees, and workers of the Oil and Gas sector have created very positive production and business results of Petrovietnam in 2023 in the context of general difficulties of the market and the Oil and Gas industry.
General Director Le Manh Hung affirmed that the Group's achievement of achieving the production and financial targets in 2023 early has contributed to the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry's Traditional Day (November 27, 1961) towards celebrating the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Group's Party Committee and the Group's major anniversaries. At the same time, this result will also encourage and motivate the spirit and responsibility of all officers, employees and workers of the Group to be steadfast in the growth target, strive to compete to reach all targets, and strive to complete the highest assigned plan targets in 2023.
On behalf of the Group's leadership, General Director Le Manh Hung acknowledged, commended and expressed gratitude for the efforts of the collective leadership, officers and employees of the entire Group, from the parent company to member units, which contributed to helping Petrovietnam reach the production and financial targets for 2023 early.
During the remaining time of 2023, General Director Le Manh Hung noted that the parent company and member units of the Group must continue to maintain a safe, quality and efficient production pace, complete the set goals and tasks, and best prepare all resources for the implementation of the plan in 2024.
At the ceremony, the leaders of the Group and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union honored and rewarded 7 Boards at the 'Parent Company' - the Group for their important contributions to the achievement of early completion of production and financial targets in 2023.
