Peugeot E-208 GTi launches electric "warrior"

Peugeot E-208 GTi officially revealed: extremely cool retro style, outstanding performance, inheriting the legendary 205 GTi spirit with a pure electric heart.

After much speculation, Peugeot has finally unveiled the E-208 GTi, a high-performance electric hatchback that carries the sporty and nostalgic DNA of the legendary 205 GTi. This time, the "French lion" not only plays big with engine power but also skillfully breathes its heritage into every design detail.

At first glance, the Peugeot E-208 GTi attracts attention with its exclusive red paint – the color that once made the legendary 205 GTi famous. Modern lines combined with retro details such as the GTi logo, prominent red stripes, and muscular sporty shape create the appearance of a true “hot hatch”.

Behind the retro styling is a completely new engine: the M4+ electric motor produces 280 horsepower and 345 Nm of torque, enough to accelerate the E-208 GTi from 0–100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.

The car's maximum speed reaches 180 km/h, providing an exciting driving experience whether in the city or on the highway. The energy source comes from a 54 kWh CATL battery pack, providing a range of up to 350 km according to WLTP standards, an ideal number for dynamic young people in modern cities.

The E-208 GTi supports 100 kW DC fast charging, which can charge from 20% to 80% in less than 30 minutes, perfect for urgent trips. When charging with 7.4 kW AC, a full charge takes about 5 hours, suitable for overnight charging at home or in the office.

The interior is where memories are most strongly awakened. The seats combine the design of the 205 GTi 1.6 and 1.9, with red stripes running along the backrests and a color scheme reminiscent of the heyday of 1980s sports cars. Highlights such as red seat belts, matching floor mats, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with the GTi logo... all create a cockpit full of "street racing" spirit.

Although the price has not been announced, Peugeot E-208 GTi is expected to officially go on sale later this year. This will be the company's strategic card in the electric urban sports car segment, where rivals such as Abarth 500e or Mini Cooper SE are also competing fiercely.

Peugeot has not only created a powerful electric car, but also one that conveys emotion, nostalgia and coolness that only those who have known the 205 GTi will understand. The E-208 GTi is proof that performance doesn’t have to compromise on emotion, and that heritage can be fully revived in the era of electrification.
