The People's Procuracy of Sam Son City has just approved the decisions to prosecute and detain Vu Thi Mai (born in 1977), Cao Duy Hop (born in 1989), both in Sam Son City, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking" and Nguyen Van Oanh (born in 1990, in Sam Son City) for the crime of "Illegal possession of drugs".
The subjects were prosecuted.
According to the investigation results, on the evening of October 15, the Sam Son City Police working group discovered Vu Thi Mai illegally selling drugs to Nguyen Van Oanh on the balcony of the 6th floor of the Central Rehabilitation Hospital, in Truong Son Ward (Sam Son City).
Police seized two plastic bags containing 1.102 grams of methamphetamine and over 1 million VND.
When caught red-handed, Mai threw a plastic bag down to the first floor balcony. The task force seized a plastic bag containing 1.203 grams of methamphetamine.
In addition, the police conducted an emergency search of rooms 620 - 622 of the Central Rehabilitation Hospital (where Mai is being treated), seizing 0.509g of methamphetamine; an emergency search of Mai's house seized 4.807g of methamphetamine.
Expanding the investigation, the police determined that at noon on October 12, 2024, Vu Thi Mai called Cao Duy Hop (living in the same house as Mai) and told Hop to sell 5 pink pills to Nguyen Van Oanh for 500,000 VND.
The investigation showed that Vu Thi Mai chose the hospital as the place to trade drugs. The drugs were disguised in medicine bags in the hospital drawer. When someone came to buy, Mai proactively made an appointment to go out to the balcony area to trade to avoid detection by the patients in the same room and the doctors and nurses at the hospital.
The case is being handled by the authorities.
