On May 12, to repair the road surface and expansion joints of the elevated Ring Road 3, from Big C supermarket to Mai Dich bridge, the Hanoi Department of Construction announced a plan to divide and organize traffic through this area to ensure traffic safety.
Specifically, from May 12 to July 1, vehicles are not allowed to travel on the elevated road of Ring Road 3, from Big C supermarket to Mai Dich (from 10pm the night before to 6am the next morning). From 6am to 10pm, half of the elevated road of Ring Road 3 from Big C supermarket to Mai Dich will be barricaded, while the remaining half of the road will be allowed for normal traffic.
During the period of vehicle ban and restriction, vehicles are divided into traffic lanes as follows:
Vehicles from Phap Van to Mai Dich arrive at Trung Hoa intersection and move down to Khuat Duy Tien street (Ring Road 3 below) at the exit to the intersection.
Then, vehicles go in the direction of Tran Duy Hung - Khuat Duy Tien - move through the Khuat Duy Tien - Pham Hung intersection, return to the elevated Ring Road 3 at the Mai Dich overpass intersection. With the elevated road from Mai Dich bridge to Big C, vehicles circulate normally.
The Hanoi Department of Construction assigned the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board and construction units to be responsible for installing adequate signs, barriers, signal lights, and night lights 200 meters from the checkpoint location, and repeating at 150 meters, 50 meters, and at the checkpoint location.
For the elevated Ring Road 3, the road section down to the intersection with Tran Duy Hung - Khuat Duy Tien Street, a speed-decreasing sign is placed 500 m from the checkpoint.
The Hanoi Department of Construction also requested the Construction Department Inspectorate to arrange forces to coordinate with the Traffic Police and related units to organize guidance for vehicles to circulate according to the traffic diversion plan.
The Hanoi Department of Construction Inspectorate and related units continue to monitor and evaluate the traffic situation on the route and area to promptly detect, propose and report to the leaders of the Hanoi Department of Construction to adjust the traffic flow and organization plan accordingly.
