(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of September 30, in Vinh An commune, Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong City Farmers' Association coordinated with the Environmental Center - Vietnam Farmers' Association to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Campaign to Make the World Cleaner in 2024. Attending the Ceremony were Vice Chairman of Vietnam Farmers' Association Dinh Khac Dinh; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam.

The Clean Up the World campaign was initiated by Australia and launched globally by the United Nations Environment Program in 1993. To date, the campaign has become a worldwide movement, contributing to raising awareness and strengthening human action on environmental issues.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Dinh Khac Dinh requested that Farmers' Unions at all levels nationwide, especially those localities that suffered heavy damage and devastation caused by recent storms No. 3 and No. 4, organize and mobilize cadres, members and farmers to actively participate in movements to clean up the environment, plant trees, improve and restore the environment. Step up propaganda, dissemination and education to raise awareness and responsibility of farmers and communities in protecting and maintaining environmental sanitation in the area; classify waste at source, refuse to use single-use plastic products and hard-to-decompose nylon bags. Build environmental ethics, culture and ecological civilization in dealing with nature; overcome and eliminate the mindset of pursuing immediate economic benefits while ignoring the responsibility to protect the environment. Implement communication programs in the direction of content innovation, diversifying propaganda and communication forms suitable on technology platforms, suitable for target groups...

In his speech, Chairman of the City Farmers' Association Tran Quang Tuong emphasized: In recent years, the Hai Phong City Farmers' Association has actively coordinated and directly implemented and deployed environmental protection activities, focusing on building feasible, practical and effective models. Thereby, contributing with the city's departments, branches and sectors in preventing and controlling environmental pollution.
