In his opening speech, Journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, Editor-in-Chief ofEducation and Times Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, said: The Contest "Learning about the history and tradition of patriotism of the Vietnamese people" aims to promote information and propaganda about the nation and historical traditions, national cultural identity, the viewpoints and guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State on ethnicity, beliefs, religions, and the values of religion in social life. Thereby, contributing to promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, religious unity in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Also according to Journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, in 2022 - the first year of organization, the Contest received attention and positive response from a large number of students, teachers and people from all regions and areas across the country. The Organizing Committee received more than 20,000 entries with the authors' meticulous and elaborate investment. Some works were bound into books with a thickness of nearly 300 pages with a huge amount of information, rich and vivid clips and illustrations. The Jury worked extremely hard and impartially to evaluate and select the best works.
"History has always received special attention from all classes of people. The contest contributes to providing more useful knowledge about history and national culture, fostering love for the homeland, country, and national pride in every Vietnamese person," emphasized journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam.
Announcing the contest rules, journalist Duong Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, said: The contestants are education managers, teachers, and staff who have worked and are working in the education sector; students who have studied and are studying at educational institutions nationwide; parents of students, and those interested in the contest.
The entries focus on the following contents: The values of religion in social life, contributing to promoting the strength of national unity and religious unity in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; National history, patriotism, traditions of building and defending the country, national unity; Typical examples in carrying out the task of defending the Fatherland in the current period.
The content of the article also focuses on promoting the history, patriotic traditions, ethics and lifestyle of young people in the socialist era, the beauty of lifestyle and training the will according to the predecessors on the rules of conduct, elegant and good ways of thinking... Typical faces of students, teachers of ethnic minorities, religions, advanced models in environmental protection, preserving national cultural identity.
Entries must be written in Vietnamese, each entry must be at least 500 words (accepting accompanying illustrations and videos if any); can be handwritten or typed, presented clearly on one side of A4 paper; if typed, present in font size 14, Time New Roman font. In addition, include information about the author (Full name, work unit, address, phone number) clearly stated on the first page of the entry.
Speaking in response to the Contest, Nguyen Duc Anh, a student at Kim Lien High School ( Hanoi City), said: The Contest will greatly help individuals and students in general to arouse their passion for searching and researching the history and culture of their nation. At the same time, it will help them understand and absorb the history and culture of their nation, foster patriotism and national pride for the younger generation.
As the next generation, Nguyen Duc Anh shared, realizing personal responsibility, civic responsibility in learning about national history and culture, being grateful to previous generations, preserving and promoting national traditions.
