Banned substances found in kidney tonic and sexual enhancement products

The Food Safety Department has the latest warning about the products: Bo Hoan Duong Plus; Stony Kidney Tonic; and Weight Loss Support Vinegar containing banned substances.

Regarding the case of Vinh Dien Pharmaceutical and Medical Production Company Limited (located at Dan Phuong Industrial Zone, Dan Phuong Commune, Dan Phuong District, Hanoi ) producing and trading food in violation of food safety regulations, the Food Safety Department said that it had received product testing results from the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Testing.

According to the test results, 3/5 of the sampled products contained the banned substances Sildenafil and Sibutramine.

To ensure the health safety of users, while the authorities handle the case, the Food Safety Department warns and recommends that consumers do not use the following products: health protection food Bo Hoan Duong Plus; Stony kidney tonic product to enhance physiology and Apple Cider Vinegar Slim product to support weight loss that do not ensure food safety; notify the nearest health agency if any products are found on the market.

3 batches of products containing banned substances were recalled

According to the Food Safety Department, the three recalled product batches include:

Health protection food Bo Hoan Duong Plus (batch number: SOLO: 02.2022, Manufacturing date: 11.5.2022, Expiry date: 10.5.2025); product registration number: 6537/2021/DKSP dated July 18, 2021; Specification: 50 tablets/box. Product manufactured at Vinh Dien Pharmaceutical Production Company Limited.

The trader announces and is responsible for the quality and distribution of the product: Ngoc Nu Protect Health Trading and Service Company Limited, address: Ho Son Hamlet, Van Dien Commune, Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province.

Prohibited substance detected: Sildenafil 32.4 mg/g (Test result form No. 12750/PKN-VKNQG dated May 23, 2022)

Stony product nourishes the kidney, strengthens yang and enhances physiology (batch number: SOLO: 03.2022, Manufacturing date: 12.5.2022, Expiry date: 11.5.2025).

Kidney tonic product recommended to be taken 60 minutes before sex, warned by Food Safety Department to contain banned substances

Prohibited substance detected: Sildenafil 27.3 mg/g (Test result form No. 12751/PKN-VKNQG dated May 23, 2022).

Slim Apple Cider Vinegar product supports weight loss (batch number: SOLO: 01.2022, Manufacturing date: 26.2.2022, Expiry date: 25.2.2025).

The Food Safety Department recommends that slim apple cider vinegar, which supports weight loss, contains the banned substance Sibutramine.
