Dong Nai: 8-year-old boy dies in irrigation reservoir

(DN) - At noon on August 19, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Region 11, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Dong Nai Province Police organized a search and recovered the body of a boy who drowned in a water reservoir for watering plants in Lap Thuan 8 village, Loc Ninh commune.

According to initial information, at around 9:30 am on the same day, D.HT (born in 2017, residing in Lap Thuan 8 village, Loc Ninh commune) and some friends in the neighborhood went to play in the rubber garden near their house. While playing, T. went down to the water reservoir area to water the plants nearby. At around 11 am, when his family went to look for him, they discovered that he had fallen into the lake (about 7m deep, about 150m² in area).

Upon receiving the report from Loc Ninh Commune Police, the Area 11 Fire and Rescue Team quickly dispatched a specialized vehicle and 7 officers and soldiers to the scene to carry out the search.

After nearly 1 hour of effort, at 12:30, the authorities found and brought T.'s body to shore, handing it over to local authorities and family for funeral arrangements.
