Discovered group "Church of God the Mother" including children in Quang Nam

(NLDO) – A group of 9 people including 5 women, 3 men and 1 child in Quang Nam province gathered for illegal religious activities and were just discovered and handled.

On January 24, Quang Nam Provincial Police said that the authorities had just discovered and dealt with the "Church of God the Mother" group.

Previously, at 7:40 p.m. on January 21, after receiving a report from the public, Dien Ban Town Police (Quang Nam Province) inspected the residence in Trung Phu 2 Block (Dien Minh Ward, Dien Ban Town) and discovered 9 people illegally practicing religion, including 3 men, 5 women and 1 child.

In which, NTT (born in 1995, from Cam Pho commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, currently residing in Trung Phu 2 block) was identified as the group leader.

The authorities seized a number of documents and tools for religious activities, including 1 podium, 1 offering tray, 6 documents related to "Church of God the Mother", 7 white scarves. Currently, Dien Ban Town Police are continuing to investigate and consolidate the case file to handle the case according to the provisions of law.

In recent times, the police force has stepped up warnings and propaganda to the people about complying with the provisions of the law on religious activities; in which, some unrecognized religions such as the "Church of God the Mother" have many negative elements, contrary to the good customs as well as the ethical and cultural standards of the Vietnamese people.

Quang Nam Provincial Police advise the public not to believe in the enticements of these subjects and not to participate in illegal religious activities that are not allowed to operate in Vietnam.
