On January 6, the leader of the People's Committee of Duc Ninh Dong Ward (Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh) said that a case of a person serving a suspended prison sentence in the locality was just discovered dead in the forest by local people.
This person was identified as Mr. N. (born in 1984, residing in Binh Phuc residential group, Duc Ninh Dong ward, Dong Hoi city). Specifically, Mr. T. is serving a sentence in the community for the crime of "Theft of property", a suspended sentence of 18 months in prison, 36 months probation managed and supervised by Duc Ninh Dong ward police.
On November 9, 2023, Mr. T. left home and it is unknown where he went. After being summoned twice by Duc Ninh Dong Ward Police, he did not show up, so they consulted with the Ward People's Committee to make a record to report to the Dong Hoi City Enforcement Agency for handling according to regulations.
At noon on January 5, while clearing the land in the acacia forest area of residential group 10, Dong Son ward, people discovered a decomposing body and reported it to the authorities. The body was later identified as Mr. N.
Duc Ninh Dong Ward Police have sent a report to Dong Hoi City Police for investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
