Promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities in Thach Thanh

As the Secretary of the NCUT Party Cell, Ms. Bui Thi Huyen, a Muong ethnic in Dong Khanh village, Thanh Tho commune, mobilized people to contribute to building a stadium, repairing a cultural house, donating land to build 5km of rural roads, and repairing a village cultural house. Along with that, she mobilized people to collect waste centrally, and implement a new cultural lifestyle in weddings, funerals, and festivals.

In early 2025, Ms. Huyen, together with the Party Committee and the village executive committee, mobilized people to contribute to installing more than 200 light bulbs on the roads inside the village... In particular, in the work of site clearance, to construct the Kim Tan town bypass road and construct the national power grid, she and the Party Committee organized many meetings for people to propagate and mobilize. With detailed and clear explanations, the people in the village clearly understood the importance of the projects, so the villagers agreed to support... With the efforts of Ms. Huyen and the Party Committee, Dong Khanh village was recognized as a cultural residential area, a residential area that ensures security and order for many consecutive years. The economic life of the people in the village is increasingly improved, with the average income per capita in 2024 reaching 62 million VND...

Ms. Bui Thi Huyen said: ''As a NCUT in the community, I have tried my best to complete the task. In order for the campaigns to achieve high results, we always have a consensus from the Party Committee to the people at village meetings, and transparently disclose people's contributions, so we always receive the people's support. Since 2017, when there were many workers in the village working at companies, the freelance labor force always had jobs, and people's knowledge level was improved, the campaign work was more favorable''.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, NCUT, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Ward 1, Van Du Town, has promoted and mobilized people to build a great national unity bloc. In 2023 and 2024, she and the people of Ward 1 were awarded certificates of merit by the District People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the movement to build a cultural ward.

Not only doing a good job in propaganda and mobilization, she is also a typical example in developing the family economy. She has invested in and renovated 10 hectares of hilly land to plant forests, fruit trees such as oranges, jackfruit, dragon fruit... and raise bees for honey. Her farm generates an annual income of more than 1.5 billion VND, creating jobs for 15 regular workers with an income of about 7 million VND/person/month and about 50 seasonal workers with an income of 300,000 VND/person/day. In addition, she also helps families with plants, seeds, capital, creating conditions for families to change their thinking in the way they invest and develop the economy. With her help, 5 farmer association families in the village have escaped poverty sustainably...

Currently, in Thach Thanh district, there are 166 NCUTs in 166 villages of 21 communes and towns. The NCUTs always encourage people to change the structure of crops and livestock, apply scientific and technical knowledge to production to increase productivity and product quality, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
