Bridge to solve social problems
The family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tiep (nearly 70 years old, Tay Nha Trang ward) is in a rather difficult situation. She is blind but still tries to go to acupuncture every day to earn money to take care of her grandchild, Nguyen Ngoc Ngan, to study. Her father passed away when Ngan was young, and her mother remarried, so she lived with her grandparents. Loving her grandchild, despite their old age and weak health, her grandparents still tried to sell lottery tickets and do acupuncture to earn a living. In 2019, her grandfather passed away, and the burden of making a living fell on her thin shoulders. Understanding Mrs. Tiep's family situation, the social work collaborator of Tay Nha Trang ward informed the Social Protection and Social Work Center of the province to connect organizations and units to support Ngan to continue going to school. From that connection, during the 9 months of the school year, Ngan received 300,000 VND per month in support until she finished grade 12.
