The Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association needs to coordinate with relevant sectors and units of the City to improve the effectiveness of cooperation with the Vientiane Veterans Association (Laos) in depth, practically, meeting practical requirements, contributing to consolidating and developing the Vietnam-Laos solidarity and friendship relationship forever green, forever sustainable.

That was the direction of Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, during the reception of Major General Phalom Linthong, Chairman of the Vientiane Capital Veterans Association (Laos) and the Vientiane Veterans Association Delegation, which took place on June 11, in Ho Chi Minh City.

On behalf of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc highly appreciated the results of the cooperation activities fostering deep friendship between the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association and the Vientiane Veterans Association that have been implemented in the past time.

The Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee said that the visit and working session in the City of the Vientiane Capital Veterans Association has practical significance, concretizing the agreements of the leaders of the two Parties and two States on consolidating and further developing the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Ho Chi Minh City leaders emphasized that based on the positive results in cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities, including the capital Vientiane, the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association and the Vientiane Veterans Association will strengthen coordination, exchange ideas, and share practical experiences in veteran work, especially in building a fund to support veteran members in difficulty to escape poverty and develop a sustainable economy .

The Veterans Associations of the two localities need to clearly define the purpose and effectively implement each project and cooperation program, from small to large, to ensure highly effective and substantive cooperation activities.

Thanking Ho Chi Minh City for the thoughtful reception and deep affection for the Delegation, Major General Phalom Linthong, Chairman of the Vientiane Veterans Association, thanked the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City for leading and directing the City Veterans Association to implement many effective and practical cooperation and support activities for the Vientiane Veterans Association in the past time.

Announcing the results of the working session with the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association, Major General Phalom Linthong said that the Vientiane Capital Veterans Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association have similarities in performing the tasks of protecting the Party, protecting the State as well as supporting and helping members to enrich themselves legitimately.

The Vientiane Veterans Association hopes to receive experience sharing and support from the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association as well as relevant sectors and units of the City in implementing the work of building the association fund, developing veterans' businesses, supporting veteran members to reduce poverty and building a sustainable association./.
