For those in the tech industry, this is no surprise, as businesses have invested heavily in high-tech fields over the past period, from infrastructure to human resources. In particular, since the adoption of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, followed by Resolution 68-NQ/TW, impressive milestones have been achieved.
Invest heavily.
At the Vietnam-Korea Economic Forum on August 12th in South Korea, in the presence of General Secretary To Lam and South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min Seok, a memorandum of understanding was signed between CT Group Vietnam and a South Korean drone technology company, for an export order of 5,000 UAVs.
These are heavy-duty transport UAVs (60kg to 300kg) manufactured by CT UAV (a member of CT Group), boasting an 85% localization rate and proprietary Vietnamese technology highly regarded by many countries, including South Korea. The company's self-reliance in semiconductor chip design for UAVs gives CT UAV a significant competitive advantage. Also at the event, CT Group secured an ATP (assembly-testing-packaging) order for 100 million semiconductor chips for export to a South Korean partner.
To achieve these "sweet fruits," the company has persistently invested in science and technology over the past years. The corporation has been a pioneer in the Industry 4.0 revolution from 2019 to the present, from theoretical research to R&D (research and development), design, commercial production, and export.
In late April 2025, amidst the nationwide celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), CT Group inaugurated its Innovation Hub 4.0 in Ho Chi Minh City and commenced phase 2 of the CT Semiconductor semiconductor chip manufacturing plant in Binh Duong province (formerly).
The Innovation Center is identified as a breeding ground for and promoter of nine new technology sectors, all priority areas according to Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, such as: semiconductors; artificial intelligence; drones; green digital currency; carbon credit exchange; zero-emission buildings; electric cars and trains; quantum computing; new energy; genes and cells. This model aims to connect Vietnamese and international resources and activate an innovation ecosystem based on high technology.
According to CT Group Chairman Tran Kim Chung, CT Innovation Hub 4.0 is not about simulating theory or demonstrating imported technology, but rather directly showcasing and operating a complete 4.0 core technology ecosystem owned and developed by Vietnamese people. This includes self-developed UAVs, AI products, semiconductor factory models, 4.0 stacking houses, ESG technologies for sustainable economics, and breakthrough research in gene and cell technology…
For CT Semiconductor, this is the first ATP chip manufacturing plant where Vietnamese people own the technology. The plant is expected to be operational in Q4 2025, aiming to produce 100 million chips annually by 2027, while also focusing heavily on R&D.
Just six months after implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, on June 29th, CT Group announced the design of an ADC chip created by Vietnamese engineers. The chip, named CTDA200M, is an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a 12-bit resolution and a speed of 20 MSPS. The chip is intended for use in medical devices and imaging; sensors, automation systems, IoT, UAVs; wireless communication, etc.
Mr. Tran Kim Chung stated: "The corporation is proud of the first chip design developed entirely by Vietnamese engineers. ADC chips are commonly used in defense and security and are crucial for digital transformation. While this type of chip typically takes two years to design, the corporation's engineers worked diligently and completed it in six months, thanks to the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW."
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that the launch of the ADC chip design marked an important step in mastering core technologies, affirming the creative capacity and aspiration of Vietnamese people in the digital age. The strategic steps of the Group, from packaging, testing, and designing AI, IoT, and UAV chips, are clear evidence of leveraging the endogenous resources of Vietnamese enterprises.
In addition to ADC chips and UAVs, CT Group has developed intelligent management software solutions, AI-powered automated monitoring systems, IoT devices, smart city platforms, and next-generation sensor modules. These products not only meet domestic needs but also have export potential.
Attracting high-quality human resources.
Resolution 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of the private economy not only sets the goal of developing the private sector extensively, but also expects to elevate this sector to become a pillar of productivity, innovation, and integration. In this context, CT Group has identified not only growth as its goal but also a transformation from a diversified enterprise into an innovation center with a clear core technology orientation.
Mr. Tran Kim Chung stated: "The Group, together with the Alliance of Innovation Centers of Generation 4.0, is determined to activate the innovation movement among young people. We aspire to join hands with the Government, agencies, departments, the business community, and intellectuals both domestically and internationally to build a strong innovation ecosystem, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development."
The company focuses on areas with the potential to have a profound impact on the economy, such as: future transportation infrastructure, semiconductors – the foundation of the digital industry, and the carbon market – a new component of the green economy. With an ecosystem of 9 core technology sectors, CT Group aims to contribute to realizing the spirit of Resolution 68-NQ/TW and to suggest a new model of private enterprise, which is "technological self-reliance, long-term orientation, and action aligned with the national strategy".
To achieve its sustainability goals, the company focuses on developing human resources through investment funds, startup incubation programs, collaborations with domestic and international universities, and building a network of experts and scientists. Through the CTI Program with Can Tho University and the VNU350-CT Global Fellowship for Innovation Program with the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, CT Group is sponsoring $4 million USD with the goal of attracting scientists, experts, and talents from around the globe...
According to Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, to develop science and technology, especially in cutting-edge fields such as semiconductors or quantum computing, the human factor is crucial. Through cooperation with CT Group, both sides will work together, mobilizing resources to attract outstanding scientists to work here and jointly carry out projects between the two sides.
At the "Vietnam Dreams Come True" conference held on July 25th in Taiwan (China), the leaders of CT Group expressed their desire for the intellectual community, experts, and Vietnamese expatriates living, studying, and working abroad to proactively contribute to the country's development. This is a valuable resource, especially in the context of Vietnam's strong transformation in technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
According to Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group, one of the biggest obstacles preventing many experts from returning to or establishing long-term connections with their homeland is the lack of a sufficiently advanced technology ecosystem to fully utilize their capabilities. Therefore, CT Group has been addressing this issue by creating a comprehensive high-tech ecosystem, bringing together professors, experts, and engineers from the United States, Taiwan (China), South Korea, Japan, Europe, and other countries.
Commenting on the growth potential at CT Group, Ben Tseng, founder and chairman of Arete Microelectronics, said: "This is an excellent and very admirable place. CT Group is developing an ecosystem with many high technologies, especially semiconductor technology – a key area in many modern businesses."
CT Group's orientations and achievements not only contribute to realizing the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW and Resolution 68-NQ/TW, but also demonstrate that Vietnam can absolutely advance using technology created, mastered, and deployed by domestic enterprises.
