After a decade of absence from the screen and focusing on the film How Do You Live? , director Hayao Miyazaki is receiving the first "sweet fruits". International articles, looking at the Japanese market to probe the reactions of the audience there to the work considered to be the last of the 82-year-old filmmaker, provide very objective comments for the audience outside of Japan and make those who once loved Hayao Miyazaki and the magical worlds he created, anxiously wait for the day the film "goes abroad".

Director Hayao Miyazaki, now 82 years old, has dedicated to the audience his latest anime film, How Do You Live?, with the traditional creative style that made him and Studio Ghibli "famous for a time".

In Japan, when How Do You Live? was released last Friday, people lined up outside the theaters to see Hayao Miyazaki's film. A 27-year-old employee of the Japanese news agency Kyodo said after seeing the film: "I couldn't summarize the content of the film after only watching it once, and I felt like I had to watch it again immediately."

The Hollywood Reporter noted that the film was highly appreciated in Japan because it "absolutely amazed" viewers with its beautiful visuals and thoughtful message. However, the film still received some opinions that it was quite dark and more mysterious than many previous Ghibli works.

War and the Japanese countryside, once again, appear in How Do You Live? . The film is adapted from the 1937 novel of the same name by author Genzaburo Yoshino. The film is set during World War II, opening with the bombing of Japan. The main character of the film, a boy named Mahito, lost his mother in the bombing and his father married his aunt, after which the whole family moved to live in a rural area. Mahito begins to explore new things in his new home, unexpectedly, he meets a talking gray heron and has his own adventure.
