Biology has a relatively wide range of 10 points. 2025 is the first year the exam includes Informatics, but this subject has a relatively good score range. Notably, English is considered to have the best score range, resolving the "two peaks" of the chart. This year, the Ministry of Education and Training also added criteria to evaluate important indicators, helping to clarify the fluctuation of score ranges so that high schools and universities can organize teaching and enrollment conveniently.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son, Rector of Hanoi National University of Education, commented that, in general, with this year's score distribution, universities can confidently use the exam results as a basis for admission. The exam has some positive innovations, especially the application of modern testing techniques. Through analysis of the score distribution, it can be seen that the score of 10 is distributed in many different localities, showing equality in the opportunity to access knowledge.
Chairman of the Council of the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) Professor, Dr. Pham Hong Quang commented that the score distribution of the 2025 high school graduation exam has been confirmed at the required level, ensuring the goal of confirming the general, basic, foundational level, being classified, and being used for university admission with reliability.Educational institutions as well as localities need to stop thinking about absolute scores, because if the exam is too easy, there will be no trust in the university, and there will be an imbalance with outstanding students. Therefore, this year's exam has questions with high requirements to ensure classification and balance in education. Thereby, students can determine their ability to continue studying at a higher level or go to work.
Sharing the same opinion, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training) said that this year's exam has increased the classification with two compulsory subjects and two elective subjects according to candidates' interests and abilities. When students choose according to their interests, the quality is better and the classification is clearer than previous years. This is the first year of taking the exam according to the 2018 general education program, the output requirements for the English subject are also higher from A2 to B1. However, the score distribution of this subject is no longer a saddle-shaped phenomenon, which is very encouraging, affirming the increase in the quality of candidates.
According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong, the score distribution, average score, median score, standard deviation and score differentiation show that the exam is highly reliable. This result accurately reflects the student's ability and the quality of education in each locality. The high school graduation rate in 2025 will reach 99.21%, equivalent to 2024 (99.24%).
