At the meeting, General Director of TCL Group Vuong Thanh said that in Vietnam, TCL currently has 4 production facilities in Binh Duong province (old) and Quang Ninh with a total accumulated investment capital of 310 million USD, expected to increase to 590 million USD by 2027.
The Group's investment projects in manufacturing LCD panels and modules have contributed to attracting industries supporting the upstream supply chain to Vietnam. In 2024, TCL in Vietnam will achieve revenue of 1.22 billion USD, up 11.9%; production value will reach 1.35 billion USD, up 14.6%.
Founded in 1981, TCL is a leading Chinese technology group, operating mainly in the field of manufacturing electronic components, equipment and products. In 2024, with 130,000 employees, 43 R&D centers and 32 production facilities in 160 countries, the Group's revenue will reach nearly 300 billion yuan (about 43.4 billion USD).
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the Group's business results globally in general and in Vietnam in particular. The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed: The comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China is constantly developing in all aspects; economic , trade and investment cooperation continues to be an important pillar in the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Emphasizing that Vietnam prioritizes attracting foreign investment with focus and key points, taking quality, efficiency, technology and environmental protection as the main evaluation criteria, the Deputy Prime Minister wishes to promote cooperation with China in industries and fields such as electronic components manufacturing, supporting industries, medical components and accessories, etc. These are also industries and fields in which TCL Group has a lot of experience and strengths.
To strengthen cooperation in human resource training for TCL's projects in Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the Group proactively coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training and the People's Committees of relevant localities to connect with universities, vocational training facilities, and domestic enterprises to implement training programs for projects that are being and will be invested in Vietnam.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that TCL came to Vietnam not only to seek profits but more importantly to contribute more to the development of the host country, connecting with the Vietnamese economy so that Vietnamese enterprises can benefit from TCL's supply chain. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung encouraged the Group to transfer technology and appropriate production stages to Vietnamese partners who are qualified to participate. From there, TCL can support and connect more closely with Vietnamese enterprises.
“The Vietnamese Government is committed to always accompanying and creating favorable conditions for foreign investors in general and Chinese investors in particular to carry out effective and sustainable investment and business activities in Vietnam,” Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung informed.
