Indonesian Vice President: 'We can beat U23 Vietnam 3-0'

Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka believes that the home team will win big against U23 Vietnam in the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, which will take place at 8:00 p.m. tonight, July 29.

Mr. Gibran Rakabuming Raka expressed optimism about Indonesia's chances before the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 final against Vietnam.

The Indonesian vice president is even confident that his team can win big against U23 Vietnam - the defending champion of the last two tournaments.

"I see the team is in good form, maybe we can win 3-0" - CNN Indonesia quoted Vice President Gibran.

He also emphasized that the Indonesian U23 team really needs the full support of the fans. He encouraged people to watch the match on television, or if possible, go to Gelora Bung Karno Stadium to cheer.

This is the third time that both Indonesia and Vietnam have appeared in a U23 Southeast Asian final. For the home team, this match is the perfect opportunity to avenge their loss to U23 Vietnam on penalties in the 2023 final.

Gibran Rakabuming Raka was born on October 1, 1987, is an Indonesian politician and businessman. He is currently the Vice President of Indonesia at the age of 37.

He took office as vice president in October 2024, becoming the youngest vice president in Indonesian history. Before that, he served as mayor of Surakarta from 2021 to 2024. He is the eldest son of former Indonesian president Joko Widodo and Iriana.
