On July 19, the 2025 admissions consultation day was held at the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) in the context that there are only nearly 10 days left until the end of the university admission registration period.
The event was organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education ( Ministry of Education and Training ), attracting a large number of parents and candidates to participate.

How to arrange wishes?
Nguyen Thao Nhi, a candidate from Trang Bom commune, Dong Nai province, attended the fair to learn how to register for admission and update information on the floor score and predicted benchmark score this year for the Literature Pedagogy major.
Nhi shared that she tried to register her wishes on the General Admission System of the Ministry of Education and Training, with the priority wishes being the Literature Pedagogy major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Saigon University and Thu Dau Mot University.
“My high school graduation exam score is not too high. Compared to the benchmark scores of previous years, I think the highest chance of admission is at Thu Dau Mot University. Should I put my first choice at this school?”, Nhi wondered.

Sharing Nhi's concerns, many other parents and candidates also asked questions about how to arrange their wishes to increase their chances of admission.
A male student expressed: “I really want to study Microcircuit Design at the University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University, but I am not very confident with this wish. I think I can study this major at other mid-level schools. So should I put my first wish at the University of Technology?”

Answering questions from candidates and parents, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said, Currently, all candidates must register their wishes on the General Admission System of the Ministry of Education and Training and complete payment of fees for their wishes to be recorded.
When considering admission, the methods will be considered simultaneously. The candidate with the highest standard score in the method will be admitted. If the first choice is not passed, the system will automatically consider the next choices in order of priority.
Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan emphasized that when registering, candidates need to arrange their wishes in order of priority from highest to lowest, in which wish 1 is the most important wish.
If you are admitted to a higher choice, your lower choices will be automatically cancelled. Therefore, candidates should put their most favorite major and school in the first choice position, regardless of whether the chance of admission is high or low.
Candidates will have their chances of being accepted optimized.
Some parents and other candidates question the fact that the current General Admission System of the Ministry of Education and Training only requires candidates to choose a major and school, without choosing an admission method.
At the consulting booth of Ton Duc Thang University, Tran Hoang Quan, a candidate residing in Binh Trung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “I took the competency assessment test organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University and registered for a number of majors in the fields of Finance and Business at a number of universities. Most of these schools use the competency assessment test score admission method. So if I do not choose the admission method on the system, will I be considered for this method?”

According to Master Cu Xuan Tien, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), in 2025, candidates will not need to choose an admission method or combination code.
If the candidate has taken the competency assessment test organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University, the candidate's test score data has been uploaded to the common system. Therefore, when the candidate registers for a major and the school uses the competency assessment test score method, they will definitely be considered for admission. The software will automatically arrange for the candidate to have the highest chance of being admitted to the chosen major.
Therefore, candidates only need to focus on choosing a major and school with information about the major code, school code and arranging the priority order of admission wishes, without having to register for admission combinations or admission method codes.

At the festival, Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, senior expert of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), shared the latest information on university and college enrollment in 2025.
According to him, currently, universities have announced quite complete enrollment information, so candidates have a basis to register their admission wishes.
Candidates have the right to register for many wishes and many schools, but can only be admitted to the highest wish in a major at a certain school that correlates with the score and admission conditions of that school.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung advised candidates that when looking for admission information such as majors, admission methods, and subject combinations, candidates should refer to the official websites of the schools, in the correct admission year.
Candidates should note the additional criteria in the admission process to register. If they want to use a foreign language certificate for admission, they must submit the certificate to the school according to regulations, or update the certificate information on the general system. If this is not done, the foreign language certificate will not be considered for admission.
