These are the historical site of Dang Van Hoa's tomb and the historical site of the Forward Surgical Station. Both of these sites are located in Phong Thai ward, Hue city.

Dang Van Hoa tomb historical site

Dang Van Hoa (1791 - 1856), according to Nguyen Dynasty history, was the second son of Dang Quang Tuan (fourth generation of the Dang family). His mother was Mrs. Phan Thi Han, from Thanh Luong village.

He was one of the founders of the Nguyen Dynasty in Thua Thien, a "Four-dynasty elder", serving as an official for nearly 40 years, under four kings: Gia Long, Minh Mang, Thieu Tri, Tu Duc. He was a famous official who was diligent, modest, and honest. In the dynasty, there were 6 ministries, and he held the position of Minister, leading 5 ministries (Military, Public Works, Justice, Finance, and Rites). He was famous for being a very honest and upright official, and he left behind many achievements that benefited the country and the people in the fields of politics , agriculture, and culture.

He was the one who contributed to erecting the Vo Cong stele; casting the bell of Dieu De pagoda; donating 6 large bells, 2 stone steles, many Buddha statues, horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences to Hoang Giac (Hien Si), Bac Vong Dong, Bac Vong Tay, Thanh Luong, Hoa Vien pagodas... Currently, the bells, stone steles and Buddha statues are still in the pagodas he donated. In addition, he was also a poet, leaving behind a collection of Le Trai thi including 75 original poems, and edited major books such as: Nam Tho Anh Hoa Luc; Thieu Tri Van Quy; Dai Nam Su Le Hoi Dien...

Historical site of the Forward Surgical Station

The Forward Surgical Station is located in the area bordering the North of Quang Dien district and the South of Phong Dien district (old). In the past, the Station had a room (operating tunnel) dug 1.8 to 2m underground; 1.5m wide, 8 to 10m long. In the operating room, there were 2 entrances in the front and back, inside were placed 2 concrete slabs as operating tables, outside was placed 1 concrete slab for first aid before being taken to the operating room. In addition, at some tree roots and bushes, many shelters were dug for wounded soldiers to rest, waiting to be taken to the upper line. The Station was established to serve the Spring 1975 campaign taking place in the North of the Tri Thien - Hue battlefield.

In 2019, the Forward Surgical Station site was recognized as a provincial-level relic. Since then, the relic has been renovated, restored and a number of works have been built, including welcome gates, reception and exhibition houses; surgical tunnels; stele houses; mass graves, roads, trees and technical infrastructure items.
