The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, socio- political organizations, scientists, experts, and a large number of officials, civil servants, reporters and collaborators.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Le Cao Thang - Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy of the Front emphasized: “The Institute of Strategy and Policy of the Front was established in the context of the country's strong transformation, when the requirements for innovation in thinking, institutional improvement, improvement of the quality of social criticism and consolidation of social consensus became more urgent than ever. In order for the Vietnam Fatherland Front to fully promote its role as the center of the great national unity bloc, a bridge between the Party, the State and the people, it is necessary to have a research and policy advisory agency with a long-term vision, a solid scientific foundation, a dedicated team and a desire to contribute”.

The Institute of Strategy and Policy of the Front was established under the Decision of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , as a research, advisory, policy-critical and communication unit under the Front. The Institute was formed on the basis of developing, inheriting and expanding the functions and tasks of the Institute of Workers and Trade Unions - a scientific research agency on the working class, trade unions and the Vietnamese labor movement, which has made many contributions to the work of policy planning, critical and communication in recent times.
In 2025, implementing the policy of perfecting the organizational structure, the Institute of Workers and Trade Unions and the Labor and Trade Union Magazine were arranged, merged and developed into the Institute for Strategic Studies and the Labor - Trade Union Magazine. On that basis, the Institute of Strategy and Policy of the Front was officially established, marking a new strategic development step, becoming the center for research, consulting and policy communication of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The Institute aims to build a modern science - policy - communication institution, where intelligence, practical experience and aspirations for contribution converge, contributing to consolidating social consensus and promoting the strength of great national unity in the new period.
The Labor and Trade Union Journal is a press-academic agency under the Institute of Strategy and Policy of the Front, inheriting the 96-year tradition of the Labor and Trade Union Journal, originating from the Red Trade Union Journal (1929) - the first newspaper of the Vietnamese working class. After nearly a century of development, the Journal has always accompanied the working class and the Vietnamese union movement, vividly reflecting the working life, intelligence and creativity of the Vietnamese people.
Today, the Labor and Union Journal is not only a forum for workers, civil servants, intellectuals and mass organizations, but also a policy and academic communication agency of the Institute, contributing to connecting research with practice, spreading the values of labor, creativity, solidarity and social responsibility, serving the mission of strengthening the great national unity bloc.
According to Director Le Cao Thang, in the history of our nation, every time the people were united, the country created miracles. Great solidarity is a precious tradition, the unchanging strength of the Vietnamese revolution. Entering a new phase, geopolitical competition, shifting global value chains and the impact of digital transformation pose many challenges. At this time, great solidarity is not only a domestic pillar but also a "soft power" to enhance Vietnam's prestige and international position.

To promote that strength, the Fatherland Front must constantly innovate, listen to and connect with the people, ethnic groups, religions and overseas Vietnamese. More importantly, all policies and strategies must be built on the basis of strategic research, scientific data and practical evidence. This is the responsibility of the Institute of Strategy and Policy of the Fatherland Front: to forecast trends early, analyze public opinion, advise on comprehensive policies and do a good job of policy communication - bringing policies closer to the people, turning policies into beliefs and concrete actions in life.
Therefore, "The Institute needs to become the "strategic brain" of the Front's work: both advising and disseminating policies, and contributing to training a team of cadres with vision and modern skills," Mr. Le Cao Thang affirmed.

In the coming period, the Institute identifies 5 major orientations - 5 strategic pillars as a guideline for all activities, including: First, strongly developing research capacity and strategic thinking, linking scientific knowledge with real life, so that each research result becomes a valuable reference source for the policy-making work of the Front and its member organizations.
Second, focus on sociological surveys and investigations and build a database on social consensus, to honestly reflect the thoughts, aspirations, beliefs and voices of the people, contributing to making the people's voices heard, understood and respected.
Third, forming an open dialogue and critical ecosystem where scientists, officials, organizations, businesses and people exchange, share and seek common voices for the benefit of the country and community development.
Fourth, expand domestic and international cooperation, absorb the quintessence of human knowledge, enrich the Institute's research, forecasting and policy advisory foundation, and promote the image of Vietnam as a united, benevolent and sharing nation to international friends.
Fifth, build a modern, professional, creative organization and people of the Institute, taking intelligence - ethics - responsibility as the foundation, so that the Institute can truly become a common home for those who work in research, policy criticism and communication with heart, vision and constant innovation.

Along with that, the Institute attaches special importance to developing the Labor Union Journal - a policy and academic communication agency under the Institute. The Journal will be the voice of workers, intellectuals and mass organizations, a bridge connecting research and practice, between academic thinking and people's lives.
Director Le Cao Thang affirmed: “On the journey ahead, the Institute of Strategy and Policy of the Front will strive to become the leading center for research, criticism and policy consensus in the Front system, contributing to the cause of innovation, modernization and sustainable development of the country”.
