
In Ia Tul commune, heavy floods from the upper Ba River isolated many households. Upon receiving reports of people trapped in dangerous areas, under the direct command of Colonel Le Thanh Tung, Deputy Commander of the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command, the forces of the Defense Command of Region 5 - Ayun Pa mobilized canoes and other forces to coordinate emergency rescue.
By 1 p.m. on November 7, rescuers had rescued 19 isolated people, including 15 Ia Tul residents and four workers from Dak Lak province. Specifically, two elderly people were rescued from the roof, 11 people were trapped on the alluvial ground in the middle of the Ba River, and six people were in the field guard huts. All were brought safely to shore and their health was monitored.
On the same day, in Ia Hiao commune (bordering Ayun Pa ward), the commune police successfully rescued 3 people isolated by floodwaters in So Ma Hang B village to safety. Before that, at about 1:00 a.m. on November 7, this group of people were in a hut in So Ma Hang B village when the floodwaters suddenly rose, completely isolating the area, leaving them stranded in the middle of the water. At about 6:00 a.m. on the same day, local people discovered the situation and informed the authorities. Immediately after that, Ia Hiao commune police coordinated with other forces to organize rescue and arrange boats to bring all three people to safety.
Currently, the water level of the Ba River in the Ayun Pa area is slowly decreasing. The authorities continue to be on duty, ready to deploy response plans, determined to prevent human casualties and minimize property damage caused by floods.
