Attending the Conference were Mr. Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat; Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, former Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations, former President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations.
The Conference was chaired by Party Central Committee members: Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Ha Thi Nga, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan, President of the Vietnam Farmers' Union ; Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, President of the Vietnam Veterans' Association.
The conference was also attended by members and former members of the Party Central Committee, representatives of leaders of central departments, ministries and branches, and members of the Presidium and Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure.
At the Conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha announced the Politburo 's opinion on the personnel introduced for consultation to elect the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term. Ms. Ha Thi Nga presented the Presidium's report on the addition and replacement of personnel participating in the Committee, the Presidium, the Standing Committee and the personnel holding the position of Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029.
In the spirit of democracy, solidarity and responsibility, the Conference discussed and unanimously agreed to elect Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations, to participate in the Central Committee, the Presidium, the Standing Committee and hold the position of Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term, 2024 - 2029.
On behalf of the Party leadership, Mr. Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, presented flowers to congratulate the new President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bui Thi Minh Hoai. Also on this occasion, Mr. Do Van Chien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, former President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, sent his congratulations and expressed his confidence in the leadership and management of Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai in the coming time.
In her acceptance speech, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bui Thi Minh Hoai expressed her honor and deep gratitude for the trust of the Politburo and members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure. “This is a great honor, as well as a heavy responsibility entrusted by the Party and the Vietnam Fatherland Front. I would like to sincerely thank the leaders and members for their trust and assignment to me to continue and promote the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Fatherland Front,” said Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai.
New President Bui Thi Minh Hoai affirmed that, after 95 years of construction and development, under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has always been a symbol of great national unity, making great contributions to the revolutionary cause, building and defending the Fatherland.
Ms. Hoai expressed her deep gratitude to the previous generations of leaders, especially comrade Do Van Chien and the previous Standing Committee, who left many innovative marks in the work of the Front: from strengthening supervision and social criticism; promoting the role of a bridge between the Party, the State and the people; to operating the "Digital Front Portal", gradually digitizing the Front's activities in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on national digital transformation.
Emphasizing the spirit of inheritance and innovation, President Bui Thi Minh Hoai affirmed that she will make every effort, together with the Standing Committee, the Presidium and the entire Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, to continue promoting the role of the Front in the new period. In the immediate future, she will focus on implementing the Resolution of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Organizations, term 2025 - 2030; successfully organize the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the term 2026 - 2031; and at the same time, actively prepare for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the term 2026 - 2031.
The new Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also emphasized that the Front will continue to effectively carry out the work of social supervision and criticism, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people; preside over the collection of people's opinions contributing to the documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress; and at the same time continue to perfect the project to arrange and streamline press agencies and mass organizations under the direction of the Politburo and the Secretariat.
Expressing her determination for the new task, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai said: "I really hope to receive the support, companionship and sharing of the elders, gentlemen and comrades in the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and of member organizations, to together fulfill the important responsibility assigned by the Party, State and people."
On this occasion, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bui Thi Minh Hoai called on compatriots at home and abroad to continue promoting the tradition of solidarity, actively respond to patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Front and its member organizations; and unite with the political system to bring the country firmly into a new period of development - rich, prosperous, civilized and happy.
