Can Tho River Culture Festival will open on the evening of December 26

The opening ceremony is expected to last 90 minutes, including the opening speech, the ceremony and the festival. The closing ceremony of the festival has the theme “Radiant Can Tho”, including the opening speech, the ceremony and the art program with 3 chapters: Can Tho - the land where birds nest; Can Tho - the aspiration to reach far and Radiant Can Tho.

After listening to the comments of the members of the City Arts Council and related units, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep suggested that the unit implementing the opening and closing programs should edit and complete the script to express the soul and cultural identity of Can Tho river. In particular, the program focuses on introducing and promoting the cultural heritage of Can Tho and the Mekong Delta region through the language of art.

According to the newly adjusted plan, the opening ceremony of the Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025 will take place at 8:00 p.m. on December 26 (previously scheduled for December 27), at the Ninh Kieu Wharf area. The program will be broadcast live on VTV1 of Vietnam Television and the channels of Can Tho Newspaper, Radio and Television. After the art program, there will be a drone show and fireworks display. In addition, before the opening ceremony, from 6:30 p.m., the "Colors of Rivers" parade will take place. Many activities within the framework of the festival have also been adjusted and supplemented to increase the attractiveness and diversity to serve visitors.
