Speaking at the festival, Director of the Center for Culture and Library (Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports) Tran Tuan Anh said that the Hanoi Folk Song, Dance and Music Festival 2025 is an important cultural event, aiming to honor, preserve and promote the unique folk cultural values of the thousand-year-old capital.
The capital Hanoi is a place where the quintessence of national culture converges, where many rich folk songs and dances are preserved and spread, such as: ca tru singing, cheo singing, xam singing, quan ho singing, drum-bong dance, senh tien dance, folk dance of the plains and midlands, etc. Each melody contains the national soul, expressing love for the homeland, the country and the Vietnamese people.
This year’s festival brings together hundreds of actors, artists, students, officials and people from the city’s wards and communes. With the theme “Folk Colors”, the festival is not only an opportunity for units to exchange and learn, but also an opportunity to preserve, nurture and spread the values of folk art to today’s young generation.
According to the Organizing Committee, the festival’s participants are art nuclei, artisans, and non-professional actors who are living, working, and studying in communes and wards in the city. Each unit competes with 3 performances, totaling 15 minutes, with genres of folk songs, folk dances, and folk music – including melodies, folk dances, and traditional musical instrument ensembles… bearing the identity of the regions of the capital and the country.

The content of the performances aims to praise the Party, Uncle Ho, love for the homeland and country; honor the tradition of solidarity and attachment between ethnic groups; reflect the aspiration for a prosperous and happy life, the spirit of mastering nature and praise the capital Hanoi - the "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" city on the journey of integration and development.
On the morning of November 11, the teams of 7 communes and wards including: Ha Dong, Thanh Liet, Xuan Phuong, Thanh Tri, Quang Bi, Thuong Phuc, Soc Son... brought special performances.
After the final round, the Organizing Committee will award First, Second, Third, Consolation and Special prizes to outstanding units and performances.
