Superstar G-DRAGON's concert sublimates in the ocean of light in Ocean City

Fanchant shook, crowd exploded – Ocean City couldn't sleep because of "Anh Long"

During both days of the concert, Ocean City was transformed into a sea of people from early afternoon. Tens of thousands of spectators, including many international fans, flocked to the central area to check in and take photos in G-DRAGON-esque outfits. Although the performance area was dozens of hectares wide, every walkway, lawn, and grandstand was packed with people.

Before the performance, on the giant LED screen, the organizers took a moment to share with the Vietnamese people in the areas affected by the storm and flood: " Hopefully your lives and your hearts will recover soon. Wishing everyone peace and good health. Thank you to all those who are working hard to overcome the consequences." That humane message made the whole audience quiet, before the stage lights turned on brightly.

G-DRAGON appeared in a red suit covered in roses with the song “Power”. The whole Ocean City seemed to shake, tens of thousands of people simultaneously shouted “Anh Long!” – the affectionate nickname that Vietnamese fans gave him. Tens of thousands of daisy lightsticks lit up simultaneously, turning the sea square into an “ocean of light”.

The leader of legendary K-pop group BIGBANG continued to lead the audience through “Home Sweet Home,” “Go,” and “One of a Kind” – declarations of self and character. As the familiar melodies of “Crayon” rang out, the fan chants rippled like a sonic earthquake, and fireworks lit up the Ocean City sky in a moment of absolute sublimity.

“ This is the final destination of my world tour. Every time I return to Hanoi , I always feel something very special. Welcome to my home ,” G-DRAGON shared.

If the opening part was red with power, the next part opened another G-DRAGON – dreamy, narrative and intimate. “Bonamana”, “Butterfly” led the audience into a dreamy space with silver-white light covering the stage. G-DRAGON sat on the silver throne of the Übermensch, telling the story through music .

The atmosphere exploded again with “I Love It”, “Who You”, “Today”. G-DRAGON walked down the stage to get closer to the audience, waving, taking selfies and smiling brightly. The highlight was “Crooked” – the whole audience stood up, fan chanting in unison. G-DRAGON put down the mic, smiled, and let the crowd sing for him – one of the most memorable moments of the night.

“ I love you guys. You guys are my FAM (G-DRAGON’s fandom name). Today, we are all on the first page of Übermensch history. ” – G-DRAGON said, amidst endless cheers.

In particular, the entire audience seemed to shake when G-DRAGON mentioned “BIGBANG reunion 2026”: “Next year is BIGBANG's 20th anniversary ,” he said, “and I hope you will be there with us.”

Following the explosive atmosphere was a series of familiar hits “Heartbreaker”, “Take Me” and “Too Bad”. At this time, G-DRAGON sometimes beatboxed, sometimes improvised with the electric guitar, and drifted with the lasers sweeping across the stage. His divine dance moves with his own DNA, his ability to master the stage with great versatility made the audience unable to take their eyes off. Every gesture, look, and word made the fanchants stir.

Immediately after that, the stage turned to a quiet moment with a video recreating the journey from the boy Kwon Ji-yong to the icon G-DRAGON, along with the message Übermensch - "an entity living by its own will". The whole audience chanted his real name in unison, creating one of the most emotional moments of the night. Then a few minutes later, "Drama" resounded dramatically, both powerful and soulful, as a perfect ending to the main set.

During the Encore, G-DRAGON returned in a cloak, stepped onto a daisy car and walked around the stage, singing “This Love”, “1 Year”, “IBelongiiu”. The whole stage sang along, creating a surging “tide of people”. “Untitled, 2014” ended the night in a space filled with emotion, as G-DRAGON’s gratitude to the tens of thousands of audiences who created a legendary night with him.

Notably, Vietnam is one of the few stops in the world tour that has a send-off (saying goodbye to the audience after the show) – a privilege reserved for VVIP tickets. G-DRAGON appeared radiantly, waving and smiling friendly. Just a few short minutes but enough to make the whole audience burst into emotion.
