In the list of 17 valedictorians entering Vinh University in 2025 with 30 points (including bonus points), up to 16 students registered for pedagogical majors such as: Literature Pedagogy; History - Geography; Mathematics. In addition, many other new pedagogical students were also admitted with 29 points or more.

Passing her first choice of Literature Pedagogy with 30 points, including the bonus points for the second prize in the Literature Provincial Excellent Student Competition, Ho Thi Ngoc Ha (formerly a 12A grade student at Kim Lien High School, Nghe An) said: My family has a tradition of pedagogy, so this is the major I have dreamed of for many years. Therefore, when I tried hard to study and was admitted to my favorite pedagogy major, I was very happy and proud. My family's economic conditions are also average, so choosing Vinh University in the province will help me reduce the financial burden on my family.

“In addition to being exempted from tuition fees, I have also registered to receive support under Decree 116, receiving a monthly subsidy of more than 3 million VND. Thus, I have reduced half of my study and living expenses compared to other industries. I also plan to work as a tutor to accumulate experience, teaching skills, and earn extra money to cover living expenses,” Ngoc Ha shared.

Meanwhile, Phan Dai Hoang, a former student of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, won the National Encouragement Prize for Excellent Students; First Prize for Excellent Students of Nghe An Province in Mathematics in 12th grade. With this achievement, Hoang had many options to apply for admission to different professions, but he decided to study Mathematics Pedagogy - Vinh University.

The male student shared that he had considered the IT and computer science industries, which have been “hot” in recent years. However, his real dream was to become a teacher, so in the end he chose to follow his passion.

“Before me, there were many students who majored in Mathematics who chose pedagogy and had many job opportunities after graduation. Currently, the State also has many investment policies for pedagogy students, attracting and recruiting good teachers. Therefore, with the foundation I have, I will try to develop my abilities in 4 years of university. The goal after graduation is to have many recruitment opportunities through attraction”, Phan Dai Hoang said.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Luu Tien Hung - Principal of the School of Education - Vinh University, over the past 5 years, especially after Decree 116 on policies to support tuition fees and living expenses for pedagogical students took effect, the number of candidates registering for pedagogical majors has increased day by day.

Therefore, the quality of enrollment has also been greatly improved, continuously in recent years, the pedagogy major has the highest standard score of Vinh University. According to statistics, most students have registered to enjoy the policy according to Decree 116 and they all determined to stick with the profession for a long time.

Particularly recently, Resolution 71 of the Politburo was issued as a breakthrough policy of the Party and the State, which has great significance for educational and training institutions. Firstly, schools and educational and training institutions are given favorable conditions to invest in facilities, equipment and infrastructure. The teaching staff is given attention in terms of salary and allowances, with priority given to attracting talented teachers.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Luu Tien Hung, the Pedagogical School (Vinh University) has a reputation and brand in pedagogical training in the North Central region as well as the whole country. Currently, the school has more than 70% of staff and lecturers with doctoral degrees or higher. Many lecturers are assigned to perform tasks of the Ministry of Education and Training such as participating in compiling textbooks, reviewing and building the 2018 General Education Program. At the same time, they innovate in training, participate in training on AI applications in education and training for educational institutions...

The Principal of Vinh University's Pedagogical College said that Resolution 71 shows investment, concern, and creates many breakthrough opportunities in education and training. Along with that comes the challenge for educational and training institutions to catch up and apply the Party and State's policies in practice.

Educational institutions must review and redefine their vision, mission, and development strategy to match their functions, tasks, and the new context of the country. At the same time, they must develop an appropriate action plan that is consistent with Resolution 71. From there, they will issue a plan to implement specific tasks for each stage and each school year. This will focus on the core elements of staff, facilities, and training programs.

Currently, the teacher training program needs to closely follow the 2018 General Education Program to provide high-quality teachers in the new period. Therefore, in addition to the traditional majors, the school opens additional majors to train teachers to teach new subjects; with qualifications and skills to meet modern educational requirements such as making English the second language in schools...

Each lecturer also needs to promote the responsibility of self-training to improve qualifications, participate in innovation, technology transfer, and scientific research to meet the spirit of Resolution 71.
