According to the Phu Quoc City Public Works Management Board, the winning bidder for the temporary landfill is LICOGI 13 Specialized Materials and Technology Joint Stock Company. The waste treatment contract has a term of 22 months with a budget of 55 billion VND.

Currently, the contractor is leveling an area of ​​more than 1,000 square meters next to the landfill, installing machinery and treatment equipment. To facilitate the contractor's treatment, Phu Quoc City authorities are installing electricity and repairing roads to the landfill for the contractor's convenience. The main treatment method is incineration.

Recently, to limit the stench affecting residential areas , the Phu Quoc City Public Works Management Board has been spraying chemicals to deodorize.
